We stayed for just one night at the beginning of our vacation. What a lovely welcome to Ireland. The staff were so welcoming and gracious. The room was lovely. Would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

We spent two days at the Merrion at the end of a 10-day trip through Ireland. The Merrion deserves every bit of its fine reputation as atop hotel in Ireland's largest city. The classic old structure has been beautifully preserved yet also made entirely up-to-date and wholly charming. The service and attentiveness of the staff is notable, especially the gentlemen... I stayed in Merrion Hall on several occasions from 1995 with no complaints. I booked in Feb 12 to go for the Madonna concert in July 12 and received confirmation from the hotel of the date and the deposit paid. Ten minutes before I left home to travel to Dublin I got a call to say the hotel was closed... More

Myself and my boyfriend had booked to stay here back in December, 2011 to attend Bruce Springsteen this July. We rang today to confirm the booking and discovered that it had closed without anyone informing us or returning the deposit paid. Very stressful situation all round and we aren't convinced by any promises to help. It might very well be... More

We turned up direct from the airport and being dropped off by our taxi to find that the hotel was boarded up with a note pinned to the door advising us to ring a number. We has checked a few weeks before that the booking had been taken and were advised everything was okay. It looked like this hotel hadn't... More

Not what I would class a "boutique" hotel, very sparse, comfortable bed,no mod cons, basic. Location good, about 20 min walk into centre, though area has plenty of good restaurants and bars.

We stayed at the Merrion in Dublin for 2 nights las week. Very good hotel, nice rooms, good bed, very good bathroom and very clean. Central location. Breakfast was very good and service excellent.. The only negative point was for the arrival, as the porter was not waiting to get the gags when we left the taxi. We had to... More

Merrion hotel is a nice older european-Style Hotel. The rooms were clean and quaint and we had plenty of room. It was a bit uncomfortable to make the walk through the tea room ( sometimes quite crowded) and outside through a cold walkway to our room in the other building. It is a very quiet place. overall it was a... More
