My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Durban Residence during our visit to Dublin. The main thing in the favour of this B&B is it's location. You are on the cusp of the city centre and in easy walking distance of most of the key attractions. As a consequence, you pay a premium price for what is essentially quite basic... More

The only good thing about this bed and breakfasts is the central location. Other than that, there is no elevator between the floors, the breakfast is limited to basics and there is no soundproof between the rooms. The staff hardly speaks English and is not helpful at all.

I cannot say that was great really. We booked 1 bedroom for 4 people and when we arrived, one of the employee and a customer had difficult conversation based on the price of the room. Both of them were rude to each other. That was not a great welcome to be honest. As we were a bit too early, they... More

The best thing about it was the staff, they were very friendly. We were there too early for check in and we wanted to go around the town so he happily took our bags and minded them in the staff room, and he did the same again for us the day we left, until we were ready to get our... More

I have thought long and hard about leaving this negative review. My sister and I shared a twin room on the top floor with 3 other bedrooms, September 20th. There was no external fire escape nor any instructions as to what to do in the event of a fire - perhaps not a mandatory regulation in Ireland ? The only... More

I hate to say that the only reason I even gave this place a 3 star is because the management was so great. They were a group of polish gentlemen that took over managing the property. It looks like they are still updating the place, but it is not very nice. The location is great, as you have Temple Bar... More

Not sure why this place receives such poor reviews. I suppose if you enjoy simple, then this B&B is perfect. The rooms are fairly small but have all accommodations one would need. Pretty comfortable bed to sleep on, sweet little toilet and if your room is situated by the main street, you'll have a pleasant little view of the street... More

Good location and decent price, but that's about it. Crappy breakfast, unpleasant staff and noisy neighbours. Wifi was pretty good, even on the top floor. Showers were decent. If it's just for sleeping the night, I'd recommend having breakfast on town instead.

I booked a room at the Durban Residence because it was the closest (and most affordable) B&B within walking distance of the bus/train station and Temple Bar. Although it's located on the North side of the River Liffey, it is close enough to walk to most areas that I wanted to visit. The staff was accommodating and allowed us to... More
