The hotel is very well located, 10 minutes walk from temple bar. The hostel is very lively in the good sense, it has a nice pub, billiard, lockers, good breakfast, and a marvelously kind and helpful staff. There a few cons as well: we had to wait quite some extra time to get our rooms, the room was not perfectly... More

Only had a brief night here, but were very happy with everything. Clean, good sized room, food available at a reasonable price. Bar was busy and there was lots of information available for guests including easy access to a walking tour. It is a little out of the way (other side of the Liffey but as Dublin is quite small... This is possibly the best hostel we've ever stayed in. We stayed in a private room with ensuite which was absolutely perfect. The bar and cafe were brilliant and a great place to chill. Bruno and all the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. You won't be disappointed if you stay!

My husband and I spent our last new days in Europe at this hostel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and tidy. The staff went out of their way to help us. We needed an adaptor for our cell phone. Jeremy and Bruno went to the store room to find a solution. Jeremy even went to our... More

We absolutely loved Generator Hostel Dublin! We paid £15 a night each for a private room with our own bathroom. We thought it was great value for money and loved that the bar was reasonable prices compared to temple bar! Which meant we could have food and drinks before heading out! The beds were comfy and the rooms were trendy... More

On the plus side, good wifi, nice bar with pool tables and some of the staff were friendly and helpful. A light and power points above the bed. Was staying in 6 bed mixed dorm. On the downside, room was tiny - smallest dorm I have ever stayed in, sheets were stained, and bathroom was not cleaned at all -... More

Stayed in a private room which was basic but comfortable and clean. Public areas are vast, stylish, and clean. In a location which deteriorates at night as it is barren of any other people, close to an old working class area of central dublin and a brisk 10-15 minute walk from the main going out area of Dublin city centre.... The hostel is very well decorated and has a good atmosphere with music playing all the time and comfortable lounge spaces. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but the bathrooms could use with more frequent cleaning. Storage space and individual power sockets were very useful - bring a large padlock. I slept on the first floor and didn't have any... More
