After seeing its great rating on tripadvisor, I was disappointed with my two night stay in The Generator. We arrived in the reception, and having been told there was a baggage storage room, the girl behind the desk told me there wasn't. After I complained to her that I was told there was one when i made the booking, she... More

Arrived as a stag do and the friendly staff could not do enough for us. As hostels go the rooms were clean and tidy, not overcrowded. Great atmosphere in the bar which is open to the early hours of morning for hostel residents which was perfect, couldn't hear any noise from the room either. Great location as only a short... More

Great hostel and would stay here again. The communal areas such as the bar and cafe are fantastic. We stayed in a 4 person private room with ensuite bathroom, all of which was clean and comfortable. The only reason the hostel isn't getting 5 stars is down to the location which isn't very central and not in the nicest of... More

I liked my stay at The Generator Dublin, the hostel is recent and was very well decorated and clean. There is a light and 2 power outlet next to each bed which is very useful. The atmosphere is great and the bar of the hostel is a good place to meet fellow travelers. Walking tours, biking tours and pub crawls... More

Good location in a rather quiet part of the city but close to the trams and several bus stops (one of them the airport express bus stop, which is very convenient) and the river so it's easy to find your way around the city. There are several cafes and shops nearby. The food in the hostel is good and they... More

As a local looking for a quick bite we stumbled into Generator one sunday during a vintage market and were very impressed with the fare on offer. Very reasonably priced lunch dishes that were both creatively presented and very tasty. We will be back to try some more. Smithfield area seems to be on the up again with numerous new... More

We only needed a nights stay in Dublin and this worked out very well. We got a private room for 4 which was clean and quiet. The lobby/cafe area is nicely done and the staff were very helpful with our luggage. It's a 10-15m walk into the main part of town so not bad at all really. Would recommend if... More

Loved it! Such good value - everything was great. Stayed in a mixed 8-bed, solo female traveller and felt totally safe. Free lockers under bed, individual lights and a screen near your pillow so some feeling of privacy. It was really hot in there but in fairness I went during a major heatwave so this is probably not the usual!... More

The place was quite nice and comfortable,I didn't see other hostels in Dublin, but when comparing the prices,Generator is more on the Overpriced side. This may be because there was a lot of offerings on the property, including entertainment. It would have been good value if breakfast was included in my rate. Great work to everyone, staff were absolutely fantastic and very responsive!

This is a great modern hostel. Be advised that this is a huge hostel and there are many many people staying here. The rooms are huge, clean and the beds were awesome. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well. Note that the hostel is located a bit away from the city center, which will result in a 15 minute... More
