The hotel is brilliantly located in temple bar and the reception staff very pleasant and helpful but that's about it. The rooms were small and incredibly stuffy as there is no air conditioning and the windows barely open. The toiletries were a bit mean - no tissues, cotton wool etc and we had to ask for our room to be... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in the middle of July. The location was perfect, wifi was included, and the staff was amazing. We arrived very early in the morning because our flight from NYC got in early. They allowed us to store our bags and nap on the couch in the huge common room. Our room was ready by 1030... More

Staff were pleasant, hotel is very dated and drab, 7am shower hot water stopped halfway through shower, not to mention the shower head was broken. No hot water for a shave, on checking out all I was asked was did I use the minibar nothing about how was your stay. All this for 139 euro excluding breakfast, I opted not... More

Tired 50s laminate furniture in room Located in Temple Bar - great if you want night life, not if you want a quiet time. It's very noisy at night especially if you have to leave the window open because the rooms are so hot and there is no air con. There was a ceiling fan but this only works when... More

We rented a 3 bedroom apartment for a weekend. The living accommodation was excellent. The sleeping accommodation was very cramped and too small for 5 adults. It was very warm in the bedrooms so had no option but to sleep (or try to!) with the windows open. The noise was terrible! I know the apartment owners cannot be held responsible... More

We stayed 4 nights in room 302 at the front of the hotel and were awoken nightly by late-night revellers singing drunkenly. This, coupled with early morning deliveries/waste removal and road works directly in front of the hotel, meant sleep was hard to come by - the church bells are the least of your worries. The room itself had no... More

The hotel reception was pleasantly furnished. Service was very polite and efficient. The rooms were comfortable and provided a pretty view of the city and Liffey. The location of this hotel was excellent it was kust the right distance from Templebar and other attractions but removed from the noise and bussle when you wanted to just relax. Breakfast was a... When a software malfunction transposed the wrong dates (booking.com) this hotel charged us full price. Even though the dates were greater than 2 weeks away. I was guilty of not considering how a situation such as this would be dealt with. I guess I am accustom to staying at places that respect the fact that mistakes occur and need to... More

We stayed two nights here which is across the road from Christchurch cathedral. Brilliant location for the city & temple bar area - only 5 mins walk to the centre of temple bar which means the hotel is very close but actually lovely & quiet. Stylish & very clean & well maintained rooms. All the staff we met were very... More

Pros:Lovely little hotel which was really handy to Temple Bar and the Liffey. The staff were all really helpful, and the room was good. Very quiet as there were no long corridors. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The George Frederic Handel Hotel is located on Fishamble street in Temple bar. Although the hotel was built in 1996, it is located on one of the most historically important streets in Dublin. The site on which the hotel now stands once housed the music hall where Handel’s "Messiah" was first preformed. To this day, Handel’s famous work is still recited once a year right outside our front door. Our beautifully appointed 3 star hotel boasts individually appointed and upgraded rooms. All of our bedrooms are en-suite with bath and shower, flat screen 32" satellite TV, direct dial telephone, hot beverage facilities and crisp white linen. We can offer Double, Twin and Triple rooms or if you need a little more space, we can facilitate you in one of our executive doubles. We also have a limited number of interconnecting rooms available for our guests. ... more   less
