My grandmother and I had an short stay at the Hotel Dergvale, and it was like a home away from home. The staff was beyond accomodating. They are so kind, and curteous. They make you feel right at home. They made us tea, made our reservations for excursions, great dinner recommendations, they even moved our room to suit my grandmother's... more

I spent 4 nights at Dergvale and had a great time. I stayed in a single room.. it was small, but confortable. The room was cleaned everyday, and my towels were changed. I had no problem with noises at night. The staff was very nice and helpfull. They indicated me a tour for irish countryside that was great! The breakfast... more

This was the most reasonably priced place I could locate (for a single) in Dublin within the area I wanted to stay without staying at a hostel. I spent the first night of my trip at another hotel since this one was sold out my first night in town. The hotel description says 5 minutes from O'Connell street but that... more

We spent a weekend at the Dergvale and found it to be great value for money. The breakfast is superb. The rooms are not super luxurious but if you are spending time in your room why did you choose Dublin? It is really well situated for all the main sights of Dublin and even the Luas ( Tram) is only... more

We stayed in Dergvale Hotel for three nights with a friend. When we arrived, I was a bit surprised, because the buliding looked shabby, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the furniture was a bit outdated, just like the decorations, but this did not cause any problems. Our room was on the top floor, and like in most Irish and... more

Lovely little hotel, but here's the main problem...unless you are a very sound sleeper, you will be kept awake all night by your fellow guests. This is a very old building, and it is beautiful, but the close proximity of the rooms, and the huge wooden keyrings attached to each key, make the ins-and-outs of other guests obvious. No matter... more

Our family (including two 20-yearolds, one 16-year-old and one 13-year-old) stayed in two triple rooms at the Dergvale Hotel in July. They were the first two nights of a 23-night trip. We booked directly with the hotel and hoped the website pictures were accurate. For families with kids who can't go into the pubs, the location of The Dergvale may... more

a great little hotel. a really warm welcome , very comfortable and really good service. i personally think the 2* is an under-rating - it certainly deserves more! the breakfast was excellent (full english or irish) and a constant flow of tea if desired. the hotel is very well placed for all the major attractions. one thing worth noting is... more

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Dergvale. I have read other reviews and I do agree with some but not others. Hotel is dated and does need a refurb but the two rooms we booked were quite nice, both were clean and showers were good. I was disappointed to find no tea tray in the room as I... more

We stayed at the Dergvale for 2 nights last week and had the worst stay in any hotel we have ever been to. The rooms were outdated and grotty, the carpets were filthy and the bedding had holes in and looked like it belonged in the 1970s. The bathroom mirror light had a loose connection and kept going off, I... more
