fitzsimons is in a great location in temple bar but unfortunately it's gone downhill very rapidly over the last couple of years. It used to be my go-to spot for staying in temple bar but now I try to look elsewhere because rooms are run down and getting shabby, beds are like a rock and it's very basic for the... More

I stayed here for only one night, before we went touring around southern Ireland for a few days. The positives first. Fantastic central location for exploring Dublin. For what you can pay (cheap at times) the room was good, roomier than other more expensive places. You also get an included continental breakfast. The staff we all encountered were very friendly... It was the Friday before Xmas so I booked a double room for €90 in Fitzsimons. The room stunk of cigarettes and as a non smoker I find this very sickening. I asked at reception if they could change the room for me and they said no and that they were fully booked out. Strange as I could still book... More

My wife and I went to Dublin for 4 nights to visit our daughter who is studying at Trinity College. Fitzsimons was in a comfortable walking Distance to Trinity, all the shopping Districts, Guiness Storehouse and the Pubs and Restaurants where just outside at the Temple Bar. The hotel can be a bit noisy as it is a music pub/disco... More

I wasn't expecting much after reading the previous reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. Warm welcome from the receptionist on arrival. Room on 1st floor,it was clean, comfortable bed & even bottles of water! Staff in the bar were very friendly, drinks expensive but it is Temple Bar. Had a lie in the next morning & found it hard to get out... More

I will get the good bits out of the way first. Breakfast wasn't bad and the location is nice and central. Stayed her at the weekend and it is definitely one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are pretty tired and not particularly clean. The hotel has a bar which is open until around 4... More

Was requested a quite room, I got it but the room was totally an acceptable, dirty voiles on the window, dusty window pane, shower in the bathroom was broken. Calling the receptionist telling her about the room she don't even had the effort... More

Great postion overlooking River & backing on to Temple Bar where all the pubs & restaurants are. Also has bar underneath with great food & live music. Short walk over bridge which is situated right across road over to Dublin City shopping. Comfortable clean room. Great breakfast over looking River.

Stayed here with the lads for one night. Brilliant location being right on the Liffy and in the Temple Bar area but that is all that is good with this hotel. Really really noisy due to the location of hotel, so if your not planning on passing out you will get no sleep. Our reservation included breakfast however they charged... More
