booked a night at this hotel thinking only of cost and because it was in the centre of town. big mistake as it was loud due to noise from Luas line outside my window and noise from the street. room was dingey and very much in need of refurbishment, carpet threadbare, bed uncomfortable, tv tiny and generally very poor condition.

An impromptu trip to Dublin resulted in booking the Abbey with some trepidation. Could not have been happier, location great - v close to Templebar and Bus Aras, staff unbelievably helpful - both reception and bar staff and my sleep was comfortable. Is perhaps a little rough around the edges but the great price and the positive factors outlined above... More

We rang early this week and booked a table in bar 52, the restaurant at Abbey hotel, we asked at the time of booking did they accept the highlife card as they are listed in the high life dinners club we were told yes bring it along. Today we arrived at the hotel which is very run down and saw... More

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that it is centrally located. The carpet in my room was filthy--not just old and worn, but stained beyond recognition. The sheer curtains on the window were also quite stained. The grout around the bathroom sink had some mold on it, but that was nothing compared to the bold... More

Where do I start. Unfortunately there is no way to give this place negative stars. First of all the photos of this place have been photo shopped and in some cases are of an entirely different hotel.yes it's cheap but there are a few things a person should expect. The web sight should be truthful and accurate. Nowhere on thier... More

Fortunately, we only stayed one night. I would understand if this place was less expensive, but for 65 EUR I would expect a little more. The shower barely had hot water, the wallpaper is peeling, the railing on the stairs is broken, there is no elevator and the staircase is barely as wide as a suitcase, so try and book... More

Stayed here for 3 nights but didn't read the reviews before booking after reading everyone's bad comments I went with an open mind and tried to give the hotel a chance. location is absolutely brilliant only good thing about the hotel. Rooms are okay it's a 2 star hotel your not going to get a swanky room but it has... More

We stayed for 1night , location is really good. rooms are very old, bathroom shower curtain mouldy, walls in hall ways mouldy and paint peeling( i have pictures) no hot water at all. when we complain the young lad at reception seemed shocked and just said "oh sorry about that" the windows wouldn't close so all night we could hear... The location is the only thing you should choose this hotel. The carpets were messy and the noise from the bars was loud. book only if you get it cheap. We payed over 100 euros per night and it was definitely too much.
