This hotel is located at the junction of a main road (handy for buses into the centre) and the canal. Quite a nice setting on the canal side but would not want to walk along the main road late at night. Was advertised on our booking site as "close to St Stephens Green" but think that was stretching things a... More

This place is the bee's knees. We were skeptical after seeing a few bad reviews, but when we arrived here we were so happy we booked this hotel! The front desk staff let us check in early and had the maid clean our room first so we could move our belongings in. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Bathroom was nice.... More

Exactly what I needed for my base to explore Dublin over a weekend. Location was ideal, nice view from the room over the river. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room itself was ideal but the bathroom could do with updating - there was lots of filler everywhere and the shower was more like a tap than anything else. Putting... More

My bedroom was beside reception so I was kept awake by doors opening and closing all night, and by the night porter chatting at 4am. The room was spacious with wifi, tea and coffee and a large tv. The carpet could do with a clean and the bed was not the most comfortable. The bathroom had been recently upgraded and... More

I read some not so nice reviews about this place, and I'm glad to say that my stay here was great. The refurbishment is over, and everything looks cozy and nice. The staff is awesome, the bed is comfy, and zero noise from the pub downstairs. The room was spacious and comfortable, bathroom was impeccable. For all this, quality-price ration... More

Had a very pleasant 4 night stay at this hotel. The location is just on the edge of the city center of Dublin, but easy to go there on foot. Within 15 minutes you're at St. Stephens Green. Hotel is situated on a lively street, and I loved it, so many little restaurants and pubs to choose from. You always... More

Recently I booked to stay at the Portobello Hotel for 4 nights as I am currently working in Dublin. From the website on booking.com the hotel appeared to be decent. It was by no means cheap - charging a rate of €80 + per night. I went to check in late last night, only to find the building covered in... More

Stayed here on Sunday Feb 16/2014 & everything was great. Got to check in early, rooms were clean, service was friendly, lots of tourist info from the staff & locals, free Irish breakfast when you book through the hotel. Nice pub downstairs (very comfy while having a pint) Just fantastic!!! It's also close to the shopping centre & tons of... More

Great little hotel with a few issues. OK! The staff were 5 stars and helped us with any questions or problems. We have to say Valentino is great, this guy was a walking encyclopedia on Dublin. The food package of a meal and a drink for €10 was great though sometimes disappointing because they had sold out. Good location to... More
