As a retired headteacher, I was especially excited to be staying in an old school building and I was not disappointed. The building itself is full of character - the restaurant and bar are particularly memorable. Nearly all of the rooms are in extensions, but these have been tastefully done. Our room was large and well equipped - with an... More

I didn't stay here but I did have a meal in the restaurant. The main course, which was a burger was not very nice, it was overcooked and a little hard. This may have been a once off, so I will allow them a pardon for that. I had creme brûlée for dessert which was out of this world. The... More

Stayed 1 night, would have liked a second night.. anyway, loved it, old quaint building full of character and im sure loads of history. Located ideally, just out of city centre, walking distance to Bord Gais theatre, aviva stadium an alittle further on, Rds to name a few. Room cosy, nicely decorated, very comfortable all round. Bar area spacious and... More

My husband and I have just returned from the Old Schoolhouse and we loved this place. Bags of character, very close to the centre of Dublin and lovely décor. All the rooms are named after your famous Irish people. Ours was Robert Emmet the rebel! The front desk girls were friendly. The food was delicious. I had vegetable soup and... More

I live close by The Schoolhouse, and have never actually stayed here. I was hosting a baby shower for my sister, and chose The Schoolhouse for the venue. We had the option of the upstairs or the downstairs area, with the upstairs being reserved solely for our party. As the downstairs might fill up with Rugby fans as it was... More

This is a lovely hotel. Very pretty. Staff are friendly (could be friendlier though). Accommodations are quite nice for an Ireland 4 star. Lovely duvets and decent beds and towels. Beautiful bar and restaurant. Not too far a walk to the centre of things. Assortment of free recent movies for when you're tired. No complaints at all.

This is the first time I have stayed at The Schoolhouse and I liked it a lot. A little bit quirky and a little bit different. Nice bar and good food in the restaurant. Big comfortable bed and one of the best hotel showers I've been in for some time (the water police haven't got to them yet and it... More

A lovely hotel, but there were problems with the plumbing in the toilets by reception, which meant that sewage smells wafted into our bedroom from time to time. Not great for a romantic weekend; not great if you've paid for one of the larger rooms (which happened to be directly above reception); and really not good if the staff deny... More

Great stay last Sat night in this hotel. Rooms really nice, cot in room for the baby and still plenty of room. Big thank you to Irene on reception for all her help throughout the stay especially looking out for our 6 month old while we had breakfast Sun morning.

Stayed in the Schoolhouse on a business trip to Dublin for one night. The staff were really friendly and genuine from arrival to departure. Had a colleague coming from the airport who took the Aircoach that stopped right outside the door of the hotel - it took just under half an hour he said. We had meetings on Baggot Street... More
