We cannot rate this hotel highly enough. The staff - especially the restaurant staff - were all courteous, friendly and professional, remembering your preferences from day one. The food, although quite pricey, was of top quality. Our room was large and well decorated with a huge, very comfortable bed and also well equipped with iron/ironing board, hairdryer, bathrobes and complimentary... More

Nine times I've been to Dublin, twice I stayed in Schoolhouse Hotel - once with my wife, once with a friend in two single rooms. I like the standard and the character of the rooms, I like the breakfast, I like the atmosphere, I like the pub and last not least the staff was very nice. Definitely my favoured accomodation... I really can't fault The Schoolhouse based on the price and location alone you can't go wrong. It's not your standard hotel room box-bed-bathroom. It's a converted old schoolhouse so it's full character and old features. My room 332 was huge with an enormous bed which while not the most comfortable ever, was very nice. Room had basic tea and... This hotel, as its name suggests, is located in an historic old schoolhouse just next to the Grand Canal. It is well located for walking into Merrion Square and St. Stephen's Green, the rugby stadium, Grand Canal dock and various restaurants. Has a good pub attached to it. The hotel certainly has charm, though having stayed here many times over... More

Stayed here Thanksgiving 2013 - the rooms are a good size and each is named after an Irish author! Pub was great to relax in after a long day of sight-seeing and its a ten minute walk to the city center.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Rooms were a little small. Ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Good burgers and fish and chips. Shared the Irish breakfast and pancakes/both were good. -went down to the restaurant in the morning and they gave us coffee to take to the room before we came down for breakfast. Took a cab to Kilmainham Gaol,... More

Just a quick overnight stay but have to say great little hotel in ideal location. Staff excellent, room was lovely and quiet and the food in the bar was great and good value for money would highly recommend.

Just returned from three nights at the Schoolhouse. We knew what to expect as two different friends had recommended the hotel!. Easy access from the airport is always important and the Schoolhouse couldn't be better place as an Air Coach stops outside. Check in was quick and efficient. They were right about the staff. They were good and friendly too.... More

Booked rooms at the Schoolhouse for our last night in Ireland during Christmas week. This property from start to finish is just down right charming. There is a picturesque canal located directly across the street. You're a quick 15 minute walk to St. Stephen's Green and Grafton Street. The rooms are homey decorated with with sturdy oak mission style furniture.... More

We had two rooms for one overnight stay in early January. The hotel was very quiet as it was a Sunday night at the end of the Christmas/New Year holidays. Rooms are very nicely decorated - not the usual bland furniture found in most hotel chains. We had a meal in the hotel lounge which was excellent as was breakfast... More
