This place is really good value for the price. The beds are comfortable by hostel standards and my friends and I got a lot of information on places to go and good nearby places to eat. All the staff we encountered were good humored and nice. Bathrooms are about average for a large hostel but nothing too awful at all.... More

Great location. The entire building is very old. I had a bad experience of walking into the toilet in the morning to find vomit on the floor, vomit which stayed there, unfortunately, a few hours into the day. I was mostly disappointed that there is no laundry service. I think they overcharge even though the location is right in the... More

We arrived at the hostel late, and the staff helped us quickly get ourselves sorted and told us about several tour opportunities including a pub crawl and a free walking tour. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the free breakfast was a plus, even if it was just toast and juice. When one of our friends got lost, the... More

Hostel is generally OK if you don't expect luxury. Dorms are very big, the beds are comfortable. Great location! Sadly, there was no lockers. There is only one bathroom per floor, with two showers - expect queues in the evening! The breakfast is small but tasty. It was pretty noisy in the hostel on the saturday night, but hey -... More

First contact with Reception staff excellent. Helpful above and beyond duties (offering to get me his own iron if I needed). The Apartment I rented was period in style, gorgeous. Fits in lovely with the neighbourhood. As the road outside is not a through road - It's very quiet all day & night. The apartment came with everything a traveller... More

The buildins is very nice, as well as the common room downstairs. The room we booked was a double ensuite. It was absolutely spartan: one bed, one chair. Nothing else, not even a picture on the wall. The bathroom was also extremely small and spartan, with horrible green tiles. If it's just for sleeping it's ok, really no frills. The... More

This was our second stay at Eccles Court, in the apartments next door to the hostel. This time we took our son, daughter and their significant others. We each had our own apartment at 70 EURO per night as we stayed one week. Since we were there in 2004, the bathrooms appear to be updated. Hot water whenever we wanted... More

we stayed 4 nights at mt eccles court in a 6bed room - were alone for the first night as well. breakfast is very basic, but included, and there is extra toast if you want. bathrooms are mostly clean, but very basic and could have been renovated better - but that is fine. beds and rooms are good and clean... We stayed in this hostel in January 2005 on our little 'Round Trip' including Wales, Dublin and a bit of England. The photos on the website looked ok, the prices were fine so we booked it. For two nights. Our room looked nothing like the rooms in the picture. The staff were not friendly nor were they unfriendly. They were... More

I stayed here with a group of friends for a rugby international weekend. The staff weren't terribly friendly, but they weren't bad either. The room was fine - spacious, but there were a few funny stains on the curtains/bedlinen. Didn't bother us really as we didn't spend much time in the rooms. Shower was much more powerful than expected, although... More
