N53°19.930' W6°16.388' Dublin's pricey tag is obvious and it got some pretty pricey pillows too. City centre midrange rooms will cost upwards of €120 and Temple Bar B&B's and hostels harvest in noisy and fleapit reviews. Read the terrible reviews for confirmation. If you're willing to endure a little bit of taxi trauma (taxi drivers from the airport are rip-off... More

Good enough price for location proximity to the city, with a good size room and bathroom. Clean if dated. Welcomed nicely by hostess and room was nice size. Host very chatty which some people might like, too much for me as i was late for the chatting! Parking was just off street but given a disc for the evening. Slept... More

I stayed here with my family for my 40th birthday! The hotel was spotless, warm and welcoming! The host's we're helpful and friendly, whilst not overbearing! And even baked me a beautiful birthday cake! I cannot rate this hotel highly enough, and we will be returning as soon as possible! Fabulous!

My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights. The owners/hosts are a lovely couple and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are good sized and most importantly the beds were comfortable ensuring a good night sleep. There is a direct bus to Dublin airport. City centre is 10 minutes stroll away and there is a Tesco express... More

Great hotel! Staff most helpful and pleasant!. The staff is most helpful in telling about places to go and see and things to do The hotel was perfectly clean and the rooms were very well presented. The bar area was really nice and relaxed and always a great atmosphere but never too busy. Breakfast was delicious and had a great... More

10/09/13 to 10/12/13 We stayed at the Portobello for the first three nights of our 2 week trip to Ireland and found it to be very clean, comfortable, and convenient. Paul and Eileen are excellent hosts with generous hospitality and lots of information of the Dublin area. The city bus stop is located across the street and it is an... More

I stayed in Dublin for two nights. The location of the B&B is perfect for a Dublin trip. The bus stop is right in front of the house (my room was very calm), several lines are available at a very moderate price. You could also walk into the city center (takes about 15 to 20 minutes on a tour where... More

Paul and his wife Eileen went out of their way to be accommodating. My husband and I stayed 3 nights in a twin room as the doubles were booked. The room was cheerful and clean with good WIFI reception. We stayed at the Portobello again for one night when we returned to Dublin after touring Ireland. We had a different... More

Out of all our oversights in Ireland this one tops the list. Upon arrival we were allowed to park in the owners' garage-what a relief! Our room with a spacious ensuite was lovely and quiet with a view of the back garden terrace. The location was ideal for exploring Dublin's many attractions by foot or by transit-many buses stopped right... More
