Stayed at this hotel in May, 2008. The hotel is dated looking in appearance but this was certainly made up for with the friendly staff and the food. The interior certainly requires a revamp and it's room facilities should be more up-to-date. The service was excellent in the hotel and the staff were very friendly. The location of the hotel... more

We stayed in the Lord Shelbourne Suite, which was a nice big room, but the bathroom was small and the extractor fan that was activated with the light was so loud you could forget any ideas of a relaxing bath. The service we received was dreadful and I would never stay here again, if service is not your priority you... more

Reception A little odd when we arrived but probably due to the language problems with some of the staff. I think we probably met one person with an Irish accent during our stay... Otherwise very helpful. Location Next to the main shopping area in Dublin and 300 yards from Art Gallery and other museums. Parking (and driving) in Dublin a... more

This is one of those hotels where the staff are lovely but the place itself is waaaay too overpriced for a room that was supposedly deluxe, but instead was shabby, tired, lacking in basic facilities, had marks on the wall, a loose tap in the bathroom and in need of a total makeover. The bed was enourmons and almost the... more

The location is great and the food in the restaurant is good. For the rest, do not expect any service or luxury. This is definitely not a five-star hotel but rather a three-star inn. I stayed in the Lord Shelbourne suite, a one-room guestroom with a view of a wall and a very tiny bathroom. There are zero amenities and... more

We stayed at Browne’s in Oct of 2007 and it was absolutely beautiful. Browne’s is centrally located to several things. It is directly across from St. Stephens Green, One block from Grafton Street, and a 5 minute walk to Trinity College and Temple Bar. The Hop-on Bus stop is right across the street. We were there when the leaves were... more

Can definately recommend. Would stay here again. Convenient location on sightseeing and airport bus routes. Very clean. Nice bedding. Attentive and helpful staff. If there was a computer available I would have given it an excellent. One caution for anyone with sore knees, there is an elevator but it is still necessary to take steps to the rooms. Pay for... more

My wife had booked this hotel before I had a chance to check trip advisor and must admit I was slightly worried about arriving here; but I needn't have worried. Rooms were nice though a little on the small side. Location is excellent with Grafton St, around the corner and all the shops within walking distance. Food in the restaurant... more

Brownes was selected due to the extreme desirability of its location on St. Stephen's Green and its easy access to all the sites we wanted to visit in Ireland. The service was wretched. We inquired before arriving as to what car parks were close to the hotel -- we were advised that there was only one: The Dawson Street Carpark.... more

I always write a review of hotels as I use Tripadvisor all the time and feel I need to pay back. My friend booked the hotel without checking this site. The reviews are fair. What nobody has mentioned is that if you sleep in a room at the front which my friend did, you get traffic noise. If you sleep... more
