Only a few minues outside of Dublin, this hotel was perfect. The decor of the castle was fascinating and the room was pleasant. My favorite part of the stay was charging my iPad with the American plug in the room! The price was reasonable and the experience was great.

Had some friends for a weekend and stayed there and all were very impressed with it ! It's in a quiet - residential part of Dublin that is easy to get to the city from - and all loved it and all said they would stay again. Loads of US visitors there busy with their cameras taking pics of the... More

Like many others have written this hotel is really in a residential community. Which isn't a bad thing just good to know. I was able to book an Executive room for a really good price during a spring sale promotion. The booking also included a free bottel of wine. Upon getting to our room and bringing the luggage up I... We arrived after 9 pm, hungry and tired after long flights and a slow check out of our rental car. The staff was exceedingly friendly, especially the concierge who helped us quickly book our activities for the following day, seated us in the charming "dungeon." It's a semi-private stone walled room in the lobby with one dining table surrounded by... More

Just home from a long weekend in Ireland staying at this very, very nice hotel. Excellent staff, happy and friendly and extremely helpful. A few tiny niggles but they were tiny. I would recommend this to anyone that wants good access to Dublin Centre but without the accompanying noise. It is so quiet and peaceful there despite events going on... More

This was a lovely surprise since I booked over the Internet & thought I was taking a chance b/c how could it be great at the price I was paying? Wrong. This is a gem just outside Dublin city limits and short drive from airport.. Clontarf is a 10th century castle w/21st century amenities. Service was great. Rooms were beautiful... More

We spent our first two days and nights at Clontarf Castle, and were not disappointed. Such history one could only read in books. Nicely appointed and helpful staff made our first days in Dublin a comfortable experience. We really had the luck of the Irish with us picking this wonderful place from the internet.

I booked this for my boyfriend who has always wanted to stay in a castle and this place was a perfect compromise. The exterior absolutely beautiful and the interior is modernized and has some knight themed decorations. The room itself what somewhat small, but average size for European hotels (or perhaps our beds were just that big). The room had... More

First trip to Ireland. Short notice on planning required quick online research to find reasonably priced and quality accommodations. The castle was perfect and will stay there every time I return to Ireland. Easy access 20 minute drive from airport Short walk to public transport The history of the main castle has been perfectly maintained, the interior stone and décor... More

..I say little because our room was little, but had everything you would need and more for a couple. Ten of us stayed to celebrate a Birthday so had the opportunity to check out a few rooms..each one was uniquely designed. Great atmosphere with a lively bar .We finished the stay with a lovely stroll on the sea front only... More
