I had one full day and 2 nights in Dublin in January and I stayed in this lovely little place. All the staff were so friendly and helpful which made everything so easy. The place is a bit like a maze but once you've explored around a bit it's grand. As a girl travelling on my own I felt safe... More

When "roughing it," a good atmosphere is the only thing I really crave. The entrance to Isaacs has a great community room packed with cool people and interesting conversations. Even cooler people are behind the front desk. The staff was extremely helpful while planning trips and asking directions plus the pub crawl was sweet of course. A good excuse to... More

great location - only 10 minutes walk away from Temple Bar and all its sinful pleasures and one minute away from central bus station for getting back to the airport. staff is very friendly and can give you last minute pointers to the best places in town. rooms adequate and tidy. get cleaned every day, which came as a positive... The hostel has a nice appearance from the outside and has a nice interior as well. I was with 8 other friends cramped in a tiny room! I decided to be the gentleman and said I would take the camp bed. We tried to get ready in this tiny BOILING room! There was a single glass window with no window!... More

The room stinked and was really hot...no air circulation. Shower was clean but I would say the same of the washroom. Bed was clean as well. The people at the desk weren't the most helpful either. They seemed to have made a mistake and assigmed the same bed to another traveler which caused me to be woken up in the... More

Staff was helpful and friendly. Hostel was clean. Facilities were great. (I still haven't had the chance to use the sauna yet-because of my own schedule.) Good locker system. Good value. Great location. Very lively and open vibe throughout.

Location: Perfect for those not driving. Virtually on the bus route from the airport to the city centre. Short walk to Connolly station where you can get trams, DART and inter-city trains. Not a million miles from the city centre. Facilities: Communal areas are ok but very busy, which can be a plus or a negative depending on your point... More

Overall my stay is probably best described as average as there are some things that they were excellent at, and some that definitely need improving. When we checked in, we were told our room number and given our receipts. That was it, no offer of a free map (which I ended up just grabbing for myself the next day), no... More

I stayed at Isaacs for 6 nights. I'm a solo traveller in my 30s and thought I'd save some $$ for hotels later in my trip by opting for backpackers for the first week. I think in hindsight I should've saved the extra and gone to a hotel instead. Isaac's is a fun, loud, boisterous place for teens to 20... More

Being of a thrifty mindset I opted for a booking at Isaacs Hostel rather than lining the pockets of a major hotel chain. I would definitely suggest booking here if you're young, as part of a large group and looking for a brilliant location (close to O'Connell St, Connolly Station and the Liffey) as it has everything you could hope...
