Our experience at Anchor House was great! When booking for 4 nights in October we were not sure about location and accommodations per Trip Advisor comments, but we had no complaints. We had requested to stay in the Georgian section overlooking the courtyard, as suggested in some comments, and loved it. The room was large, clean, and quiet with a... More

I was staying in Dublin with two friends after a conference in Northern Ireland. The rooms were a good size and the bathroom clean but besides that not the best place to stay. When we arrived the man who checked us in said that our room wasn't ready (we were there within check-in time) and then he told us that... More

On the way to the hotel, our taxi driver asked if our employer was a cheap business that didn't want to provide their people decent accomodation... Well, no. The place is fairly cheap and on the North side, but it's very good located and the service is fine and the room clean. Though a broken radiator made the nights very... More

Wee hotel located very close to Dublin's centre. Even street is very busy, room are located on back of block and are quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast excellent and only problem is really with car as parking space is very small and awkward to drive in and out, but i guess its common problem in cities like... More like a small hotel than a B&B. Our room was spacious, clean and very quiet and peaceful. Bathroom was big and shower was hot. We booked a twin room and got a room with a double bed and a twin bed. Breakfast was fine, large portions and enough to eat. 8 am is a bit late start sometimes and... More

Before booking Anchor House, I considered all kinds of options for staying in Dublin. We needed two rooms so cost was a concern. Based on TA reviews, we booked Anchor House and it was perfect for our family, with two grown kids, 17 and 20. As others have mentioned, it is more like a small hotel with breakfast instead of... Jerry and Joan were fantastic! We were in the "new section". Our room was a good size, with a comfy bed and good pillows. Free wi-wifi was available. Breakfast was wonderful. The brown bread was fantastic! The dining room was large and there was always nice music playing. We also took advantage of the front sitting room one afternoon after... More

I know that I cannot expect too much when I pay 56€ for a single room. (If you book via their website and pay directly, breakfast is included in the rate) But I do expect hot water in the shower, at least warm water. Unfortunately, mine only produced cold water although I turned the thermostat to maximum heat and waited... More

There are hundreds of places to choose from all over Dublin, but I selected this for its location near O'Connel street, Temple Bar and more. Prices here are competitvely priced to others, but I wouldnt stay here again. I particularly didnt like the rough air dried towels provided to guests and the high charge to park our rental car. I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2014. My room, a single, was small, but clean, bright, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and as a single woman traveling alone, I felt very comfortable here. Some reviewers have expressed concerns with neighborhood, but I found it a relief to come back to this more "real" neighborhood... More
