This B&B is the only one that I stayed at on my three week vacation to Ireland that felt more like an old hotel than a B&B. The people working there were friendly, but that was the highlight of my stay. I found the room to be quite outdated and in dire need of renovation. In the bathroom there was... More

Spent three nights here and have booked in for a further two on our return to Dublin in four weeks. Just around the corner from O'Connell street and very central. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast okay and room was spacious and clean

I was extremely impressed with this place, my cousin and I stayed here for two nights and the price and location were spot on. What really topped it off was though was the service: the manager (I presume she was the manager) was so lovely to talk to and so very helpful when we didn't know where to go. My... More

Elegant b and b with lovely public area's. Couldn't be more central for Dublin's attractions and right on the bus route from the airport. Clean ,comfortable room and a hearty breakfast. The staff are warm, friendly and hard working, always delivering service with a big smile. Offers excellent value for money.

I really loved staying here for two nights. The people were very friendly and went out of their way to find us rooms that were very reasonable compared to the guesthouses nearby. I was staying with my cousin and we needed two singles rooms, What we got were two lovely double rooms. It's very central and an easy walk to... More

I was unpleasantly surprised by this B&B. Lonely Planet described the Georgian house that is the front third of the B&B, which is faded and nice, but most of the rooms are actually across an enclosed walkway in a cheap former hotel. We were in a twin room in said cheap hotel. The (old, not super clean) carpeting, (new, cheap)... More

I stayed here for one night before flying out of Dublin. I arrived about 6pm and when I entered my room the only thing that hit me was the smell of cigerette smoke. Within minutes my eyes and throatvwere sore. I asked reception about it and they advised me the previous customer had obviously been smoking in there and the... More

I was very disappointed with the Anchor House, so much so, that we only stayed long enough to find another room elsewhere. There were no directions on what to do for parking, so we used a garage nearby to go check-in. Upon arriving at the front desk the man there showed us the parking lot which was full of mattresses... I was very, very disappointed with the Anchor House B&B. From the reviews that I had read, I thought that it was going to be wonderful. That wasn't to be.....For the amount of money that we paid for 1 night accomodation, I expected alot more. Firstly it's in desperate need of updating and cleaning. It smelled musty, the walls in... The Anchor House in Dublin is first and foremost, in a terrific location. It's accessible from the airport -barely 20 minutes drive- by car and bus. From this bed and breakfast you can walk to Trinity College, and almost anywhere downtown. The food was great. But beyond the reasonable price, parking accommodations, interesting architecture -converted townhouse- and sheer convenience; is... More
