Pros: comfortable bed; very good breakfast; responsive staff; they will do you laundry (€10/load; wash/dry/fold) Cons: on a busy street (try and book a room that doesn't face the street); only two outlets per room, which weren't anywhere near a mirror so blow drying your hair is impossible, as is charging all your devices; definitely showing its age (old carpet,... My boyfriend and I stayed here during our trip to Dublin for two nights. It was nice and cozy, a little chilly, but other than that it was nice. It definitely was old, but I like that kind of feel when it comes to B&Bs. The breakfast was the best part, honestly we thought it was going to be bad since... More

Most of the staff was pleasant and the breakfasts were good. The location was wonderful. But there is about 20 b&b's in this location. And a number of them are in much better condition at the same rate or less expensive. This b&b was sort of clean, the furniture was dated and damaged. The TV was decades old with few... More

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We pride ourselves in trying to give each guest a warm welcome on their stay here. Our breakfast is available free of charge when you book directly with us! The furniture in the house is antique, this is to match the Georgian style architecture of the B&B. All the... More

Our party of 7 stayed in 1 triple, 1 double and 1 twin room. All rooms we lovely and clean and had fresh towels everyday. Just a couple of negatives that we noticed: The double and twin rooms have no dressing table/ drawers and the kettle had to be put on the floor when we used it so that it... More

Hello, We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! We are addressing the issues you highlighted currently, thanks for the advice. Leaving the key at reception is an old policy of the B&B for security reasons, also it prevents the key being lost while you are out enjoying your time in Dublin. As you mentioned everything is close to the... More

I had rented 4 rooms, 2 singles, 1 double, 1 quad for 3 nights for a party of 7. Upon check in, the quad room was really a triple so 1 got put with one of the singles.. and nothing could be done about it. Thank goodness there was another bed in the single so that person could have a... More

Hello, We apologise for the confusion about the quad room; quad rooms are a service we no longer provide unless it is a family requiring a cot in the room for a child as the fourth guest. The main building you referred to in your review is a Georgian architecture building, and in order to preserve the architecture style, no... More

Moreover, Anchor is very well located, just very close to the Bus Station, Railway Station ( where you can take the DART to go fantastic villages in the area roind... More

First of all a fantastic location, less than a 5 minute walk from the train station & a walkable distance from the main touristy areas. The price of the stay was just over €250 between 3 people for 2 nights so extremely affordable for Dublin city centre We were given a warm welcome, the room was very clean & quiet,... More

We only stayed for one night at the Anchor B&B but found it to be very clean and friendly. We took advantage of the parking at 10 euros which made everything very easy. The property is perfectly located for a 10 minute stroll into Dublin city centre where there is a vibrant restaurant and pub area called the Temple Bar.... More

We stayed here when visiting Ireland for the first time. First European vacation too, so were not sure what to expect. Room was tidy and beds made up every day. Warm duvet made the nights tolerable, but there was no heat in the room from about 7 am to 4pm each day, and even then, it took a long time... More

I stayed here the last weekend in March 2015 for 2 nights with 2 of my female friends and we had a great time! We paid very reasonable rates for the triple room and we knew we weren't staying in a posh hotel so had no high expectations, we simply wanted somewhere central, reasonable and clean to put our heads...
