I had reserved two nights to begin our trip in Ireland. The first night, we attempted to sleep, but our room facing a back alley - where apparently there is a bar and it was SO LOUD we could not sleep. To begin with, this is no upscale place. Okay, we knew that. It wasn't exactly clean though. But then... More

Hello, We are very sorry to hear about your experience whilst you were here. We are located in a very busy city centre and therefore some levels of noise are to be expected. Dublin is one of the busiest cities in Europe, so there is not much we can do to limit some noise. Due to the fact we only... More

Stayed here in 2004 and found the location ideal, so booked again for a 9 day stay in May. The location is still ideal..close to bus, train and LUAS as well as a 10 minute walk across the bridge to Trinity, Temple bar, etc. or 5 minutes to O'Connell St and its shops. Lots of good restaurants around the corner... More

We spent a week at the Anchor House and found it to be central to the northern side of Dublin but alas the Temple Bar is on the southern side of the Liffy. We needed to walk more than a kilometre to get to the "action" and the city of Dublin has made no concession for seniors. Yes we can... More

Hello, As you mentioned, we are very central to the Northern side of Dublin, right beside the city centre along O'Connell Street. Temple Bar is approximately a ten minute walk away. We are sorry to hear about your navigation issues around town, however there is not much we can do unless you ask us at the hotel. Our staff are... More

Last time in Dublin (2008) we found Anchor and it was so good, that now we didn't even think about any other. Suits for us. The atmosphere. Nice, old, charming. Situation perfect. Rooms and breakfast just fine.

We had booked a secure parking space, fortunately! A terrific Irish lady welcomed us, she had a great sense of humour! Our room at the back was clean and comfortable and at night we could enjoy the music from a local pub if we kept the window open. Other staff seemed to be Polish, the other "language" of Ireland it... More

The location of this B&B were fantastic, it kind of goes downhill from there. Our room faced an alleyway and a carpark. Trucks including trash trucks rumbled down the street at all hours. The carpark and the attendants area were right across from our window where the attendant stood for most of the time which made opening the window impractical.... More

Finding a reasonably priced Hotel in Dublin could have been a worry but this place fitted the bill. A comfortable Georgian house that isn't in the most picturesque of streets but more than made up for it once inside. Comfortable lounges and rooms. Friendly staff, what more could you want. A short walk to O'Connell St and handy for Connolly... More

The room was spacious and a good location to walk to the bus station and O'Connell street. I can't give the breakfast a thumbs up or down as we did not have it and my family are just not big breakfast eaters. Our room wasn't quite what was depicted in the pictures and some of our neighbors in adjoining rooms... More

The anchor house in Dublin is very clean. The beds and bedding were great. Near the bus stop. Very easy to find. Quiet part of town. Very friendly staff. The best asset is its location close to amenities and popular tourist attractions. Friendly hosts, clean rooms but the breakfast was disappointing compared to the over 30 B&Bs we enjoyed.
