The Anchor Guest house is an adequate Guest House, and we overall enjoyed our stay. The rooms are a good size and very clean, and the beds are comfortable. However, our bathroom ceiling was going mouldy, and our room (at the back of the new extension) was a bit noisy, although we took ear plugs so it didnt disturb us... more

We liked this B&B, the staff was friendly, the room very clean and basic (no frills but good), the breakfast was nice and the location good as well, about 5-10 minutes walk to the centre. And if you compare the price with other B&B's or hotels in Dublin this B&B is really very good value for money. I would recommend... more

This B and B wasn't what we expected after its write up in Lonely Planet. On arrival we found the woman rather abrupt and parking the car seemed to be an issue for her. they wanted to keep the keys to move it if it was blocking someone else which we coudl understand, but at the same time, this isn't... more

This is a guesthouse, a small hotel rather than a quaint country bed and breakfast. First of all the hosts were friendly and very pleasant. The breakfast was fine, no meat, but quite good. The showers were very fine, with plenty of hot water. No plumbing problems in two rooms. This was a fine place to stay and was close... more

Our first stop in Dublin for two nights, very courteous nice staff. Clean room with own bath and good breakfast. They even brought us a breakfast tray when we were leaving early. We will definitely stay here again! more

The guest house is in a central location; about 10 mins walk from Temple bar and Grafton street. It is easily accessible by bus from the airport. The number 41 runs regularly and the return bus stop is right outside the door of the Anchor hotel which is extremely convenient. The main plus point of the hotel is that it... more

The Anchor Guesthouse is more hostel-like than hotel. We very much liked the staff. They were very nice and helpful. The rooms and bathroom were clean, but there was mildew on the ceiling above the shower. When we got there, the showerhead was partially broken and the drain was very slow which resulted in standing in ankle deep water during... more

Stayed four nights at Anchor Guesthouse. Room was very clean and well maintained. Staff were very accommodating, and location is excellent. It's only a short walk to the main sights on the other side of the river. The only drawback is its position on a busy road onto which our room faced. This made for a bit of a noisy... more

According to the Lonely Planet's guide to Ireland, the Anchor Guesthouse offers both economy and charm-laden comfort, and I emphatically agree. Located on Lower Gardiner Street, it is within a minimal walk of the various regions of Dublin that my wife and I wanted to explore (Trinity College, the Killmainham area, St. Stephen's Green, Grafton Street), and within a mere... more

Excellent location for the money only ten mins walk to most attractions etc. Very close to transport links to airport and to city etc. Neighbourhood was good. Rooms clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the breakfast - 8 euro for a small beans on toast no full irish breakfast in sight!!! more
