I brought a group of 23 lads to Barnacles hostel for a stag do...the whole experience from booking was great...the staff were very helpful and actually helped me book a great deal with a close by bar and pub crawl for the first night of our trip! The below review is a load of nonsense...there was 23 of us, we... More

All the teachers said us that it is the best hostel at ireland, and we belived that will be true. First of all, the rooms. They are too small, and not cleaned really well. The rooms Has only... More

Hi Cecciboy6 Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We should point out how you neglected to mention that your guys poured water out of the window on to a security guard from the shop next door. You also forgot to mention that we had to issue a warning to you and your group about your behaviour .... More

This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a good introduction into the hostel world. The hostel is located right in Temple Bar making this a good base for walking around Dublin and catching city tours. The wifi is weak and can only be used in the common room but that didn't ruin my stay or... More

I stayed here in a private room with a friend before a night out in Dublin. It was perfect! Really clean room, it was tiny, but that's what you expect in a hostel! Staff were friendly, and great security at hostel too. If you want sleep this is not the place for you as it's in the middle of temple... More

Great location. Lots to see, do and eat. The place reminds me of a college dorm, and I'm not saying that's a bad thing or a good thing. Never got to have the breakfast because I never woke up in time for it. I stayed in a mixed 6 bed dorm, and it was very cramped but we managed :)... More

I have stayed in this Hostel twice and couldn't recommend it enough. Staff are so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Hostel is very comfy and clean, sharing kitchen and common room, we met loads of people from pre drinking In the kitchen which was nice. Breakfast very basic toast with tea or coffee, we went to a cafe... More

I should start by saying that we didn't actually stay here as our tour operator failed to complete the booking. However the staff were so helpful and friendly they called the holiday company (which was based in England) who had booked us into another hotel near by! The staff were so amazing they even printed us off a map showing... More

Maybe I had the Vaseline over my eyes for Ireland, but I enjoyed staying here. I will admit, the breakfast was lacking compared to the other hostel I stayed in during my trip, but the beds were comfy and the staff was more than friendly.

Good points: friendly staff...very helpful. Great location. ..very central. Bad points: small rooms that could be updated. Windows aren't great at keeping wind or noise out. Top tip: get a room away from the main street...bring flip flops Never had breakfast so can't comment

Good location but breakfast was terrible. Wifi only availble in common areas and common areas are not open 24/7. Slept in a 10 bed dorm -- Room was dark and very cold. It was nice to have a shower and toilet in the room but water would go everywhere when anyone did showered. Staff was nice but you are charged... More
