A seemingly decent hotel. But room was pretty grubby, particularly the bathroom. Some staff were very friendly, while others had no idea of customer service. This hotel needs a total makeover! more

We stayed at the Montrose for one night in Oct 09. I would not say it was completely bad, but it also wasn't a pleasant experience. For the one night we had to stay, and for business, it was only just about ok. The rooms need renovation. Dirt and stains especially on the walls (room 248), mould in the bathroom.... more

Our group of 48 checked in at 1430 and were told that the only rooms available were smoking rooms! N o alternative provided. Wifi-internet was three Euros for a few minutes. When one of the PCs went down the rate went to ten Euros for a few minutes, plus a smirk from the man at the registration desk. Lots of... more

Very good value, I stayed for €52. Having free car parking also saved a further amount for me. Room in poor condition: missing tiles in bath, door jam broken around the bolt where door must have been forced open in the past and not repaired, room generally badly in need of redecoration. I was woken by housekeeping at 8:30am. But... more

What is the story with house keeping staff knocking on doors from 8.30am on a Saturday morning?! This seems to be a new and VERY annoying trend in some hotels. If it was being done in the Montrose to bug the hell out of guests and put them off visiting again, they have been successful. The room only price was... more

The Montrose hotel is nice but has seen better days. However, having said that I would recommend it. It was clean and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was good and the pub food was OK. This hotel is a nice alternative if you need a more moderate priced hotel and want to be a quick bus ride into Dublin.... more

Once again, I stayed here for two nights on as part of a tour. The hotel was very clean and the room was very nice. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Dublin. I think the cab ride from Temple St was pretty reasonable in terms of cost. The room was clean and the size was good considering there... more

Stayed here in October 2006 en route to a concert. While the hotel is a little old fashioned compared to many Dublin hotels and a good bit out of the city, its pleasant and nice. There is parking for residents but not much of it. The room was large and though a little old fashioned not unpleasant, very very good... more
