I agree with the other reviewers - this place is not brilliant but not the worst either. If you just want a cheap place to sleep and aren't bothered about dirty carpets and showers, then this place will suffice. Otherwise, spend a bit more and book somewhere else. Personally I wouldn't stay again unless I'm on a tight budget.

I am a frequent traveler and mostly stay in Hostels when traveling. My boyfriend and I booked a double room with en-suite at the Brewery Hostel, Dublin. The reviews online were pretty good. On arrival, just entering the premises I instantly had my doubts, this place was old and decrepit. When I saw the room we booked or better fitting... More

We walked in and then walked out. It was pretty terrible! The place was so dirty and dungeon like. The bathrooms were disgusting - the floors looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in a few weeks. The blankets on the beds were ripped and old. I usually stay in hostels while traveling and can handle a little mess, but... More

We booked via [--]. We opted for a hostel because the prices of accommodation in Dublin were so high! However, I was pleasantly surprised by this hostel and found the accommodation to be of a good standard. Bathroom was very clean with toilet, sink and shower. Clean towels were provided. The room was basic but clean and everything was in... More

This hostel is a disaster! I stayed there in an en-suite "double room", which fitted a bunk bed and was so narrow that the other person had to escape to the bathroom to be able to move around. The sheets were dirty and I had to ask for a clean one. The carpet badly stained, curtains half-ripped off. The shower-door... More

A decent hostel - clean and spacious...pretty grumpy staff though. Would suit travellers/backpackers- particularly for long term stays as the atmosphere was a little hostile to outsiders. We travelled in a group of 5 girls for a birthday so perhaps we weren't their ideal clientele (obviously staying for a long weekend isn't quite as cool as bumming around with a... More

I stayed in this hostel as a "long termer"...meaning, I lived there for 8 weeks during the summer. I was new to the city and found the staff very helpful and informative. They are more than willing to help you with directions, advice on finding a job, house hunting etc. The rooms are clean, comfortable and because you are not... More

I have never experienced anything like this hostel before. The rooms were a disgrace, the prices were ridiculous, the Manager (no words to discribe - utterly rude) the overall condition extremely poor. We stayed two nights in a double room with an ensuite. We arrived to a very unwelcoming manager (chris), we were given a room which we paid 75... More

Hello, When we have dissatisfied guests we try to make every effort to be accommodating. If they have a booking for more than one night and they are unhappy with the room, we try to make them happy by shifting the booking either to a different room or to one of our sister properties, many times at what is a... We have been in several hostels in the past, but this is the worst place we have ever been. It is very dirty, specially the rooms (I was beaten by bugs in the linen), the water supply is really poor and frequently cut, the room smelled awful (guinnes factory very close), they robbed our cameras in the room (with the...
