Only stay here if you are looking for a central hostel close to temple bar, restaurants, castle and the riverside clubs. Overall, it is overpriced, with very tiny badly structured rooms (rather holes) and low heating. I with my girlfriend booked a private room with twin beds and reached at the place at 1pm when I was not allowed to... More

I booked with Avalon having done so on and off for several years now. I am in my early 60's and found Avalon welcoming with friendly staff from desk to my single room which was well heated and comfortable. One bath towel in room. Must bring your own soap. Hot water temperature was perfect. Cleaning service available everyday. Free sufficient... More

I chose this based on price. It's cheap-ish (I paid about £115 for three nights in a twin private room with shared bathroom). The accommodation itself is OK and the location is good. The showers were annoying because you have to keep pressing the button in otherwise it will stop after 30 seconds or so. The shower room was also... More

Hi. I've stayed in Avalon House for 3 nights in a private room. The best thing about this place is the wonderful staff members which are always happy to help and bring a very chill vibe to the hostel. The room was clean and the shower had a decent hot water pressure. Breakfast was a simple hostel option but you... More

My review regard the single room with private bathroom: The place is not to bad; suggested if you wanna travel with budget because the location is in the very city center; people who works there are very friendly and problem solver. Very young people choose this accomodation because of the budget price but if you don't have to stay long... More

I was told at the first time that it was cold but I didn't expect it woudl be that cold! The first night I couldn't sleep at all because even the blankets were freezing. I asked what happened but they "didn't know". The next days even though they gave me a heater it was still cold. It is not really... More

Stayed in Dublin two nights, city itself is great, full of energy and Avalon is very close to centre of it. Fortunately that's the only advantage of Avalon, place is not so clean, twin room was freezing in January, put heating system just for few hours during night. Cold bathroom as well. Breakfast is just a joke, thanks to Bald... More

We were supposed to stay in the Avalon House for about a week, but after 3-4 days we realized it's just not for us. The room we had was incredibly small (one of the smallest i've been to), the internet didn't work anywhere other than the reception, the breakfast was poor and un-satisfying and overall the place didn't feel very... Really enjoyed our stay here, they had some excellent suggestions for what to do and where to eat in the city. Very conveniently located in the city and was a great value for anyone trying to save money. Rooms not huge but served their purpose well.

The location of the Avalon house was very nice, however, they didn't turn on the heat in the middle of winter. It happens to rain a lot in Dublin and when you are wet, you would like to come back to a warm place. There was also a crack in the window with a cold draft constantly coming through. The... More
