We stayed for 3 nights and we had a great time. The staff was absolutely incredible. Everyone was friendly and caring. It's in an incredible location and there's a lot of suggestions for you to know the city or go out for a drink. Just ask at the front desk. Would visit again

Decent enough place to stay for two nights, bad points would be I didn't feel safe sleeping on the top bunk as anytime I moved I felt I was going to fall off, showers were cold both days not enjoyable, good location not far to walk to pubs and also food

Me and a friend stayed in this hostel for around 5 nights, in which I hardly slept since there was a HUGE window above our door leading to the hallway where the light was always on. Might have been good to at least hang a curtain in front of the window.. After two days we had to share our room... More

Possibly the worst two hours of my life and I didn't even stay there! Awful staff who are not prepared to listen or help - do not go here. As a traveller in distress they could not have been ruder or less understanding and threatened to call the Garda after being unwilling to help me. I believe the rooms are... More

My room was on the 4th floor, they have elevator which is not working so I had to carry very heavy bag and a suitcase with no help from the guys on the reception. Room was very small, to small for 4 people. They have creaky children sized beds (I'm 175cm tall and when I'm lying stretched out in the... More

I come to Dublin every year for a Conference and have stayed at Avalon several times. I was happy to see renovations and upgrades to the building, smiling staff and a new cafe!!! Up to expectations. Located in a historical Victorian building along Angier street with many options for dining and drinking, and a 10 min walk off Temple bar... More

I stayed here for one night while visiting Dublin with a friend of mine. Avalon House has a great location - walking distance to the city centre, temple bar, club, st. stephan's green and grafton street. The room was simple but the bed was comfortable. We had an en-suite room and there was no problem with hot water (which sometimes... More

Stayed there for a night in a 4-bed girls' room. The location is really good, only 10 minutes away from Central Bank. The sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were well-maintained. What I liked most about the hostel was that no visitors were allowed beyond the hostel's common space - this made me feel safe. Moreover,... More

We stayed in a double room. The room was cold but the attendant ( the male night one anyways) was very attentive and got us a heater. Very close to the main center. They were knowledgeable and when asked for advice on where to eat or drink they sent me to the tourist hot spots (not what I wanted but... More

The hostel is located in the center. It's quiet, clean and many services are provided such as bike hiring or tours in the city or to the main sites. The hostel has also a cafe where it's possible to have food or drinks. Breakfast is included and can be eaten in the cafe. Our double room was clean though very small and with... More
