My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights at Avalon House and quite enjoyed it. The room was small but clean and the bed had a big comfortable doona - although the pillows were terrible! The Hostel was in a great location, and we were able to take the bus from the airport to the front door (which took around 25... More

I had fun there, that's for sure. Only stayed one night, and I didn't sleep at all. First fire alarm, then 2people having sex in the same room, and then people snoring so loud, a jet is nothing compared to that. Overall, friendly people, nice breakfast, and amazing location

I made this reservation with some trepidation. After all, I'm just shy of my 50th birthday and my memories of my youth hostel days from oh-so-long ago are fuzzy...would I be drowning in a sea of drunken twenty-somethings and be the crotchety old lady who glared at them after 11pm??? As it turns out, that wasn't so far off. Add... More

I stayed here for a weekend with a few mates while we were in Dublin for the rugby. Not bad for a couple nights stay. I did find the some of the staff members very rude, especially a particular guy who was very abrupt and unhelpful. Our bathroom had a weird smell but the room was clean and the beds... More

Good but they need more plug sockets in the room. I stayed in a 10 bed dorm which had an upstairs. There was only one 2-plug electricity socket on the wall of the bottom floor at the head of someone elses bed. Of the 2-plug sockets, only one of the sockets actually worked. (This is a major problem for 10... More

This is a nice place to stay with a lovely location. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the general buzz is positive and nice. The kitchen is good and spacious but the shower was a little dirty on the third floor. Will stay here again :)

It's really near the night part of Dublin, so you can walk a few minutes and enjoy the night of Dublin. We stayed at the Avalon Room... It's not bad at all, but the first impression it's not the best. I slept quite good and people were respectfull and not making many noise. Toilets were ok for shower. Breakfast it's... More

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in a 2 bed private, first of all the room was nothing like the picture.. It wasn't a bad room, besides the fact the pillows basically don't exist (they are so thin) the reception staff didn't give us information about the hostel, the area or even a map.. All that aside,... More

I know Dublin pretty well (used to live there), so really was just looking for something cheap, clean and central, and Avalon house provided that. the staff were friendly and informative. unfortunately i didn't check out any of the facilities so cannot comment. but the room was clean, we had a private room, which was small and clean. this is...
