Good hotel in perfect location. Rooms we had were quite pricey, as there are similar cheaper hotels around Temple Bar. Rooms were quite outdated, so was the furniture, but overall it was clean with a huge bathroom! Very nice service and reception staff and great bar, that gets very busy at nights! Definitely recommended if you don't mind spending a... More

This hotel is great but has some annoying flaws. The staff, while friendly, seemed very incompetent. While trying to book the room over the counter I was quoted 3 separate prices by 2 different members of staff before finally getting the to book me in at the price they advertise. Another annoying flaw is the fact that the bedside lamps... More

This was our second stay at the mercantile. Great location, fantastic breakfast. Good rooms. Hotel is also a pub serving food and also now a brunch cafe for 'artisan' breads and proper espresso. Great staff- particularly John who makes everything right at night!

Stayed for 1 night as heading to a concert across the road at Olympia Theatre. Hotel in great location, room spacious and comfortable, furniture a bit outdated. Great bathroom, spacious, modern with giant mirror behind sink with great lighting. No double glazing so can get very noisy especially early hours when clean up starts so the supplied earplug come in handy.... More

A one night stay last week at short notice. My usual spots, the Gresham and the Beresford were full so I took a chance knowing that it's in the heart of the nightlife part of town. I asked on the booking form for a quiet room at the end of a corridor. I've noticed in the past that this is... More

I stayed in the Mercantile with two friends in September and it was great for what we were looking for which was going out, drinking and taking in the sights of Dublin. Our room was a good size for the 3 of us (Room 105) and had everything we needed. The room was extremely noisy with the bars below and... More

Stayed here for 1 night while on a business trip in July. Stayed on a Sunday so figured it would be quiet. Asked for a quiet room and had a nice and comfortable room on the top floor facing the back street. The room was very hot and had the vent from the kitchen near by plus the street below... More

Myself and my partner popped in here the other day to have a drink. We do this often and always like to try to find a hidden gem. We both ordered cocktails. The barmaid had no idea what she was doing. It took twenty five minuets to prepare two drinks. She kept disappearing. It was obvious she didn't know what... More

I'd been in the mercantile before for gigs and a drink. This was the first time staying though in the hotel. Rooms were good from what I remember. There's a late bar and a venue for music also a good restaurant doing daily deals. We got steak and chips for a tenner each, which was great for the money. The... More

Stayed in a family room 106. It's right above the bar n faces out into the alley behind the hotel where the dame bar is right in front of you. Very loud noise all night frm music, shouting fighting n general drunken bums m this was a Wednesday night. Then 7am clean up starts outside, cleaning machines n beer kegs... More
