Although I did not stay here due to the pictures on trip advisor (I moved to the Radisson). I could not believe how rude they were on the phone to me. They were practically yelling at me about how they have never had someone cancel the day of (I looked at trip advisor as my flight was taking off to... More

This hotel looks the part, but with the price they charge not sleeping a wink the whole nite is just UNBELIEVABLE. From the music playing untill 3 am, the late nite revellers singing in the street, the bottle bin lorry emptying the bins at 5, the street cleaners after 7 & the beer lorry slamming kegs around for an hour... We decided we would go here for a nice Mother's Day lunch. We arrived and their were several staff about. It said wait to be seated and we did wait. Then the dining area was booked out, that was fine we sat down at the back near the back door. I ordered the wings and the fish and chips and... More

Very central location (Dame St). Walking distance to all shops on O'Connell St and Grafton St, Stephen's Green. There is a large variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants in this area, as it is opposite Temple Bar. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel bars very clean and offered a great menu for all times of the day.... More

Staff were unpleasant to the point of rudeness. Asked to pay for food up front because of exceptional business (less than half full). Balked when asked about providing a vegetarian sandwich option. Could not have been made feel more unwelcome.

For a girls weekend in Dublin, the location of the Mercantile is slap bang in the centre near temple bar. The bar and reception are great and we enjoyed our first Guinness and the best fish chowder I have tasted. We didn't go there for a good nights sleep but be warned it is noisy, at least in the rooms... More

Great location right in the heart of where its all happening. Good bar and restaurant and lovely staff. Lots of shops and restaurants on tap. Downside is its extremely noisy ... couldn't sleep well and time for rooms to be refurbished.

The Mercantile is located very centrally, close to Temple Bar and Grafton Street. We called a couple of times to try to book a room and were hung up on once and argued with on the second call. Reception was not welcoming, sharp and business like. Hotel is grand, clean. Breakfast was very tasty and served til half 11.

Right in the center of dublin and the Temple bar district is the Mercantil hotel. A nice old hotel with a very polite staff and a charming decor. The downstairs bar, coffeeshop etc. makes your stay very pleasant. The location is perfect, close to everything worth to see in Dublin. Though you are not allowed smoking anywhere in the hotel... As a big rugby fan but not originally from Dublin, I had heard about the Mercantile being a great sports bar in the heart of the city, and I therefore HAD to try it out... Was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere in there as I was scared it would be one of those chaotic pubs in which you can't... More
