We went for a 5 day trip to Dublin, and took a chanse on this hotel. The room was clean, staff was friendly, and the service good. My wife has long hair and need some pressure in the shower. This is usually a problem when we are staying in hotels, but not here. Plenty of water pressure. If I should... More

Hard to find entrance - it's not on Dame St. Rooms tiny. Bathroom very old & windows filthy dirty. The only thing going for it is the central location but this also means very noisy at night. Beds basic but ok. Like many Irish places the shower requires you to climb into the bath - a great safety problem

We stayed in this hotel as it is close to everything, look reasonable and clean an tidy from what we seen on pictures. When we checked in it looked lovely and happy enough until the girl took 20mins to find that we had booked a room. We where early and just wanted to leave bags in witch made me feel... More

It's rare that I have to write a really negative review of a hotel. I really don't like to nor want to; but there comes The Mercantile used to be a hotel called the Trinity Mercantile about 6 years previous and I used to stay quite frequently there. The name change however, was quiet literally the ONLY thing they changed... More

Stayed one night in a twin room on a recent visit. On the plus side the location is really central and good for Temple Bar, Trinity and the South side. Provided you get a good price then its fair to accept that the decor is a bit dated and tired and on the plus side the room was clean and... More

Nice , very comfortable and very friendly staff. On the chance I walked in off the street looking for a accomation. To my surprise there was. A bit pricey for a single room @€109.00 room only. But it was the last room. Very comfortable room and surprisingly not to noisey. Staff in reception were very good as were bar and... More

Just got back from a long weekend in Dublin for my 21st birthday with the girls, after reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit sceptical but I don't understand the bad reviews there is nothing but good things to say about this hotel. If you are going for a quiet weekend away then this isn't the... More

I previously reviewed this hotel in 2014, and my views haven't changed, I still don't understand the bad reviews! Yes there is noise from the main road, but it's neighbouring Temple Bar, what exactly do people expect?! As for people complaining about the decor, we found our room was fine, clean, light and comfortable with a big bed :) The... More

This hotel is well overdue a refurbishment. Dirty worn carpets, broken furniture, warped bathroom doors not to mention the extremely rude and unhelpful receptionist... time for a change of career I think! Very central hotel but noisy and shabby. And for the price they charge??!...
