The room we stayed in was very cheap, and had many beds, but was well organized and there were no issues with the room or the beds. The showers were not working, with one shower providing no hot water, and the bathrooms were very dirty and wonky. The breakfast provided by the hostel was very good, with cereal, toast, jams... Close to main attractions, nice staff. Very simple rooms, not the best cleaning in general, but it's worth the money and a good place to be at. Very lively place, friendly people, who is not looking for a perfect cleaning on a hostel it's definitely one of the best options.

I went to Dublin for new years with quite a few friends so we needed to do this on a budget but this place didn't let us down. Its in the perfect location step outside and your at the river so close to the town center. The breakfast was basic but good. The beds and on-suite were not the cleanest... More

BLACK MOLD. When my daughter and I arrived and checked in we were sent to a TINY "private" room I'd paid extra for. It was filthy, the beds had 1 sheet and hairs in them and, worst of all, the private bathroom was covered in THICK BLACK MOLD. My daughter, who is asthmatic, fled the room. We went back to... More

Stayed here for a weekend with a friend of mine. Really nice staff and perfect location: 5 min walk from temple bar district, O'Connel street, trinity college, and grafton street. A bit expensive being an hostel but anyway completely worth it, the bedroom and the bathroom were clean and absolutely quiet.

stayed during the weekend at this hostel. Perfect location, few meters from O'Connell Bridge and Templebar, and really nice staff! My room had a quadruple room with en suite bathroom and very essential. The bathroom is basic without neither shame nor glory. Price not exactly cheap but good breakfast included in the price.

Very anti social hostel! No warm water in showers, plugs in rooms are in very odd locations (behind beds so not easily accessed by the rest of the rooms occupants). Breakfast was pretty average but at least it was complementary. Ladies at reception was a bit rude and not particularly helpful. The only thing it has going for it is... More

I was there only for two nights, in the ashfield room (18 people dormitory) and my experience was really good. Very respectfull people, huge breakfasts, very welcoming staff. I was alone there and I met very interesting and friendly people. Good hostel, good price, good position and good people, To try!!!

This is a very anti-social hostel. I expected to find young backpackers like myself staying there, but instead I found middle-aged African immigrants who live there full time. Having fun is not allowed. They even warn you “this is not a party hostel”! (See picture attached) The staff lack enthusiasm and show no interest in their job. Hostel staff should... More

Hello, I'm very disappointed to hear that you have not enjoyed your stay at Ashfield House. However, I'd like to address a few of the points you've made. As you can see in the picture you've attached, guests are more than welcome to drink and socialise in the common area of the hostel which they do most evenings. We merely... More
