I arrived quite late at the hostel and checked in, the first night I was located in a 6 bed dorm on the top floor and was not told that there was a lift, although not sure the lift got to the part of the hostel where I was. That room was quite cramped and the bathroom had a fusty... More

The guy who works there is a creep and really obnoxious. The rooms are tiny and not very clean. The breakfast was tiny: some cereal and hard boiled eggs. The only place to get wifi was in the lobby which was always SO loud! The guy I complained about would blast music. Don't plan on skypeing anyone! I'd never stay... More

This hostel was just okay. The worst part was the cleanliness. The floors and the bedding was dirty in the roomService was fine and breakfast was also decent.

The best price I found in Dublin, great location. However, there is room for improvement as far service and cleanliness are concerned.

My sister and I stayed here twice during our 2 week trip and the 2nd time wasn't as great as the first. The 2nd time we stayed, there was still hair on the bathroom floor and in the sheets so we won't sure if they washed them or even vacuumed the room. Location is great, very close to College Bar... My friend and I stayed here for three nights in May and had a lovely time. We booked two beds in a four-bed female room but had it to ourselves the whole time! Some parts of the hostel look a bit run down, flaking paint and the like, but it was clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful and,... More

One of the worst places I've ever had the misfortune of visting! On arrival despite prior booking, the receptionist on duty refused to check us in even though we had valid documentation and identification. He then went on to insinuate that my travelling companion and I were PROSTITUTES and he didn't let our sorts stay in the hostel! I was... More

We have consulted our staff and bookings and have no record of this incident and no recent bookings from Canada. Please contact me directly [welcome@astarhostelsdublin.com] to give me the dates and details as we need to establish when/if this took place, as this is clearly unacceptable and if it occurred, we need to identify how it could have happened and... I stayed here for two nights with friends and found the location to be perfect in that everything was accessible by foot, public transport. Staff were very friendly and there is a good atmosphere in the hostel for drinking, partying etc, so is ideal for young people who want to have a good time in Dublin. Would definitely recommend this... More
