I have just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at the Shelbourne hotel for my Partner's 30th birthday. We were so incredibly well looked after, with the staff going out of their way to make our stay as perfect and memorable as possible. We had a fabulous heritage room, overlooking St Stephen's Green. Incredibly comfortable bed, huge luxurious bathroom and... More

Just home from a fabulous overnight stay. We were kindly upgraded as it was my friends' birthday. The room was recently refurbished and it was beautiful. The hotel is outstanding in everyway and it was everything that I hoped it would be!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights from 25-27 July this year. We booked through a third party website where it stated that the deluxe king rooms had separate bath and shower facilities, however when we arrived and were shown to our room the bathroom only had a bath with a shower over it..... Minor issue you might think... More

EXCELLENT SPA!!!! Perfect location in front of the St. Stephens Green park. Concierge very helpfull, and caring. Nice, big rooms. At night it is a meeting point for locals to drink guinness beer and have fun. EXCELLENT 5 O'clock tea. Good breakfast, good coffee.

We checked into the Shelbourne on July 19th for a 3 night stay. My husband had been looking forward to this trip for along time because when he was a student at Trinity College Dublin in the early sixtys he always wished he could stay there. I stayed at the shelboure with by parents when I was a little girl.... More

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Service and facilities were excellent. Great restaurants and bar. The room however, is in serious need of an upgrade. I had a very old bathroom, with cracks in the tile and a noisy exhaust fan that wasn't working particularly well.

As a base from which to explore Diublin, this hotel is a welcoming and simply beautiful. The red bus leaves from opposite the door and it's a walk through the parks and gardens, and to nearby pubs. The Shelbourne is top quality. Its restaurant is first-class and service is impeccable. We strongly recommend it.

This classy hotel is perfectly located in central Dublin close to shopping, restaurants and pubs.Nice bar atmosphere in smaller Saddlery but Larger Bar at entrance has a nice menu for a fast bite. Waited 2 hours past check in time for room while late check out guests lingered. We stayed 2 nights as it was rather pricey.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The world famous Shelbourne Hotel is a timeless landmark in the heart of Dublin. Located only 9km from Dublin Airport, The Shelbourne overlooks the magnificent St. Stephen’s Green, and is just seconds from the city’s sights and shops, commerce and culture. But the connection to Ireland’s capital runs far deeper than location. Founded in 1824, The Shelbourne, a Renaissance Hotel is a place where history has been made – the Irish Constitution was drafted, literary masterpieces were penned and society was shaped. Today, as part of the worldwide Renaissance brand, the hotel has been dramatically restored to its full original splendour. Each of the 265 bedrooms are unique, but they all share a sense of charm, style and above all quality…100% Egyptian cotton bedding by Rivolta Carmignani, elegant marble bathrooms with luxury amenities, flat-screen televisions, high speed internet access and climate control. The Shelbourne has 19 beautifully appointed suites, 12 of which are named after famous guests who have stayed at the hotel, such as Princess Grace, John F. Kennedy and Michael Collins and Eamonn De Valera. At the very heart of Dublin’s very best times for almost 200 years, The Shelbourne continues to be the city’s favourite hotel for fine food and drinks in an incomparable environment for generations of Dubliners. The Shelbourne offers a superb choice of dining venues; The Saddle Room, a modern steak and seafood restaurant, The Lord Mayor’s Lounge which serves Dublin’s only true afternoon tea, the renowned Horseshoe Bar and No. 27 Bar & Lounge, the place to see and be seen in Dublin! The hotel features a luxurious Spa offering six treatment rooms, including a suite for two people to share their spa experience together, a manicure and pedicure area as well as an opulent relaxation room. A 17.5m swimming pool, thermal facilities, dance studio and state-of-the-art gymnasium complete the facilities. ... more   less
