The Clarence is perfect- a mix of old with warm wood tones and new with all the amenities. The staff was the most gracious I've ever encountered. Each room had white with purple and brown accents and was spacious and very clean. Perfect location nearby to Temple Bar as well as tons of restaurants and shopping. Right on the Liffey... more

I stayed at The Clarence with some friends on a visit during the week St. Patrick's Day festivities. We were in a 2-bedroom suite. The rooms were quite cramped and the service was average at best. The friendliest people we met were the driver that picked us up at the airport and the bartender in the Octagon bar. If you're... more

The staff tried very hard but the young lady behind the desk struggled with some very basic tasks. The rooms were very tired and be sure to get a room that doesn't face the very noisy Temple Bar. I'd probably stay there again but not positive. I guess they bought the building next door and will be doubling the size... more

My sister and I stayed in this hotel for the Ireland v England rugby International week-end. We had a really lovely time, the staff were very friendly and hugely obliging. The bar was fun (although Dublin in general is HUGELY expensive for drinks) and had a lively post match crowd but it was never rowdy or uncomfortable. Rooms were stylish... more

Last time I stayed in Dublin it was in a grotty B&B that was seriously unpleasant. So this time The Clarence was to be part of my treat. My room was large, with a huge bed, a well equipped bathroom and even a hallway. I did raise the possible issue of noise with reception as my room overlooked an extension... more

I went on a business trip and took my wife along. We fell in love with the hotel and the staff. One of the finest dinners we had while there was at the hotel. We often talk about the time we had and the experience of Dublin. I know it's kind of late in submitting a review but I'm telling... more

We've just returned from the Clarence for our Honeymoon, it was a fantastic experience. Although, as you'll see in other reviews, the rooms are a wee bit smaller than you might expect. It is made up for by the fact that they are clean, comfortable and very nicely decorated. The tea room restaurant does a fantastic breakfast and the dinner... more

Just back from an overnight in the Clarence....The staff were excellent but our 'Superior' room was crap..Size wise it was ok but the bathroom was awful. The tiles were absolutely filthy looking and had a really grubby looking bath. The hotel itself is more like a bank and the Bar lacks any character again the only saving grace was the lovely... more

Stayed here in Jan 08 and could not recommend it enough. The staff were excellent, frindly and very helpful. Room was of the highest standard and excellent value for money! We ventured to the Octagon bar for a beer and the service and amosphere were superb. If you are after excellent value and a classy setting then this is the... more
