Stayed for one night at The Clarence, beautifully located for a tourist stay, right on the Liffy and in front of Temple Bar, in fact the door at the back of the hotel spills out onto the bars and nightlife that is Temple bar so couldn't be better... if I wasn't on business. here's the problem, there is a nightclub... I stayed recently with a group of 9 and was given a very nice suite. So far so good. When arriving back at around midnight from being out I noticed a long queue of young men and women outside a club next door. Soon after getting into bed the thudding music started. It finished around 4! Up at 6, feeling... More

My sister and I stayed two nights - first time in Dublin. Friendly and helpful front staff. The room was beautiful - wood floors! Really comfortable twin beds and a nice well appointed bathroom. Only minor complaints - had a Temple bar located just below our room and it sounded like a war zone into the wee hours. Also the... More

I stayed at the Clarence for four nights in September. I had a river view suite and it was large and well appointed, the bed was wonderful, best I had in 12 days in Ireland. Only complaint would be the outside noise but it's in Temple Bar and people party until dawn. The staff was terrific, helping me navigate my... More

We arrived 10.30pm and struggled with suitcases through the door. Nobody to help! After that the reception staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was clean but neither the basin nor the bath plugs worked! Wi-fi was extremely patchy and annoying. The area was pretty noisy too but we were there over a weekend. The very nice receptionist promised to... More

Thanks for your recent review of The Clarence. It is unfortunate that you did not receive assistance with your luggage when you arrived. I can only assume that our concierge was assisting other guests at the time. The basin and bathplugs are part of the room attendant checklist each day, so I hope that once you brought this to a... I stayed in the hotel on a Saturday night with my sister as we were going to "The Script" concert at Dublin Castle, located about a 4 minute walk from the hotel. All staff I came into contact with were very friendly and courteous, greeting us and wishing us a good day/evening when we entered/exited the hotel. We requested a... More

Thanks for you review of The Clarence following your stay with us last weekend. I'm delighted to read that every member of staff you came into contact with was friendly and courteous. Unfortunately your request for a river view room could not be fulfilled as this specific room type was fully booked through the weekend and complimentary upgrades were not... More

When we decided we wanted to visit Dublin in Ireland, we just looked for hotels that match our demands. Which are: good and clean rooms with either seperate single bed or one kingsize one, a bathroom where you don't find anything distasting, and a good choice in breakfast. That of course next to polite service and the possibility to have... More

I found the hotel very clean and comfortable, the bedroom was a good size and had views over the river. The reception and bar areas were well designed, comfortable and understated. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again

Good standard, horribly expensive breakfast -almost 25 euros (but tasty and large portion size). Next stay I will eat breakfast at a café in temple bar for 1/4 price. Not far from city Centre, and located away from temple bar, so much more quiet. I was not disturbed by any noice. Very very small fridge in room.

I want to give this hotel 5 stars - I really do. The service is fantastic and the location can't be beat. The rooms are European sized, but completely fine for two people. Everything is exceptionally clean - from the front entrance to the guest rooms. What killed me was the room temperature - it was ungodly hot in our... More

Abby, Thanks for your review of The Clarence. It's great to read you enjoyed so much about the hotel and the service of the team here and that your friends in the other room had no issues. It is a pity that you found your room to be too warm and that the fan did not assist very much. We... More
