Stay far, far, far away - the Clarence has horrible customer service and ridiculous cancellation policy! Instead, book with a hotel where they will not charge you 100% of the room charges should you need to cancel. Michele Kratz 9/4/15

If you want a quiet spot, this may not be for you. It's really IN temple bar so most nights there will be plenty of people walking the streets at all hours, but if you want to be close to the action this is it. The hotel itself is quite simple and beautiful, clean and well managed. The room amenities... More

A former monastery, the build has charm, spacious rooms (balcony worth the €), and excellent restaurant. Within walking distance of most Dublin attractions. Amongst the best front desk/concierge staff ever.

This is a lovely hotel and I appreciated being upgraded to a high level room with a balcony. Great for smokers. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I asked for some extra amenities and promptly received them. I stayed mid-week and was fortunate to avoid the noise of the bars. Unfortunately, during the first night, I was woken up... More

A superb hotel in the centre of Dublin within walking distance of all major 'must see' locations. I cannot praise the staff enough - they were welcoming, polite, friendly and really helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable with what has to be the best bed I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. Would not hesitate to... More

everything was good here from bed to cleanliness to great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only problem was our AC didn't work and street was too noisy for open windows but staff brought a fan and we slept well. I would stay here again

Down town Dublin, front line of Temple Bar. The breakfast itself, was worth the trip. I will be back here soon for sure, Dublin and The Clarence was fantastic! Serviceminded people everywhere, from taxi to check out. You need approx a four night stay, to visit all the best pubs. I got the list of the genuine ones :)

Good location close to everything in Dublin city center. The only negative is, if you get a room from the Temple bar side, the noice coming from streets. Good spacious room even for two persons. Clean room, corridors a bit outdated and smelly.

Location, location, location - couldn't be better!! Together with warm, friendly and caring staff - this is is a great place for a Dublin city break. It was always a pleasure to walk into the hotel lobby and despite a few minor issues, I give this hotel a great rating. Special thanks to Donna who took care of our group... More

On a positive note the bed was very comfortable. Many negatives; no robes & our room was externally overlooked. Insufficient toiletries, tea & biscuits. No ironing facilities in the room. Poor level of service in the bar & insufficient stock of champagne only the most expensive available. The waiter poorly trained didn't seem to know how to serve wine
