The host was very friendly and cooked us breakfast everyday but she didn't have any information for tourists, not even a map. The bathroom wasn't clean. The room was small but that was fine as it was a budget place.

There is nothing to recommend about Portland House. It is really over-priced for the poor quality accommodation that it offers. It is on a busy road in a dodgy area. The rooms are shabby, tired, dirty and ill-equipped with rickety furniture. The TV is so high up that we got a stiff neck from trying to watch it. It was stuck... More

I stayed with mairead in portland house recently. I was always met with a warm welcome and any request I had was dealt with straight away. The rooms were small but perfectly acceptable as they have everything you need. The beds and pillows were really comfy and the rooms were warm with constant hot water. I found the entire house... I chose the B&B to be close to the Kilmainham Gaol so the location was perfect. The Bus Stop was located very close to the B&B so easy public transport for those requiring it. Nice entrance to the B&B. I received a very warm welcome by the owner. The room was fine, no complaints. Everything you want... comfortable and nicely... More

This is a little gem away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin City. It is such an easy walk or Luas ride from Hueston Station. The exterior of the building is so beautiful and the interior doesn't disappoint. The owner met us at the door and took us to our room. She obliged us in such a pleasant manner... More

The Portland house was conveniently located for us. The neighborhood is relatively quiet but, depending on where your room is, you can get a fair amount of street noise. The landlady was nice and she cooked up a standard “full Irish” every morning. Our room was very small. Suitcases had to go on the floor as there were no suitcase... More

I stayed here for three nights in May 2013 and really enjoyed my stay. The landlady was very friendly and helpful and the room was cozy and clean. I also enjoyed the Irish breakfast Mairead cooked us. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Dublin.

Great location, a good room and really, really nice landlady who always was ready to help if needed. The whole house was comfortable and cozy. The room I was staying in was small but warm and it had everything I needed: extremely nice bed, a wardrobe, tv and a little bathroom. Everything was clean. It was quiet at night and... More

I stayed here when my daughter was in the Coombe hospital. The b&b was lovely clean and fresh and the lady that ran the b&b was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was cooked to order and plenty of it. If i ever had to go back to Dublin again i would stay in Portland B&B again,
