We stayed four nights and had two rooms for our party. One on the main floor and one on the 2nd. The place is tired, desperately needs upgrading, better ventilation. Furnishings are tacky and outdated. Location is fairly good, just a short walk (by our standards) to St. Stephen's Green. But traffic? Street noise? The first two nights an alarm... More

I was very disappointed and actually regretting booking this hotel. I had issues before even arriving at the hotel as I was charged a fee on the day of booking, even though there is no warning that a 'card authorisation' charge will be made. When we arrived at the hotel the man at the front desk pointed at me and... More

We stayed at this guest house twice as the location was perfect. the staff most helpful, we were lucky enough to get a spacious room on the ground floor which was very clean, the traffic noise did not worry us but it is on a busy road. No breakfast but there were a lot of nearby places to eat. Price... More

Pity as the staff were very engaging and helpful but why should the desk clerk have to double up as a porter in order to get your suitcase up to the fourth floor attic? Ours was supposedly the quietest room and with double glazing much sound was blocked, but then the stuffiness of the room meant you were forced to... More

This is the end building in a row of Georgian houses in a very convenient location in Dublin, close to St Stephens Green. it is inexpensive for the location, room was clean and had all we needed, but it was in need of updating. Floor was uneven and creaked, a definite dip was covered by a rug, and electrical outlets... More

I admit, large scale hotels are not my thing. Fitzwilliam Townhouse is the kind of warm welcome I prefer. Basic but efficient infrastructure. Cosey. Perfect service. Good price/value. I admit, large scale hotels are not my thing.

I think a more appropriate rating for this hotel would be "good". It wasn't quite average, but I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say it was "very good" either. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They always greeted us in a friendly manner and helped us with our shower when we were having problems with it.... More

The location of this guest house is fantastic - about 10 mins walk to St Stephens Green and public transport right outside. It is an old townhouse and the rooms are basic and rather rundown (although clean). Beds not overly comfortable and small things like a shower door that wouldn't close properly and uneven floorboards bothered me! All rooms face... More

We chose this place as recommended by Rick Steves; the room was clean but not well maintained - the sliding door in the shower was not securely attached, the tiles were lifting and the carpet was dirty and smelly; the staff were apologetic and generally helpful and it was close to downtown and it was not expensive but I would... If you simply want an OK place to stay, in the fine old Georgian part of Dublin and close to the attractions around Trinity College and St. Stephens Green, then this is a decent hotel. It just offers a room - no breakfast and no extras. There are bars and restaurants within a very short walk but the hotel itself... More
