Everything was excellent. Me and my mom enjoyed so much that we stayed one night longer than we had planned. Theresa (owner) was so warm and friendly. You feel right at home. Our room was also great. It was clean, lots of space, cozy and wonderfully decorated. We also had dinner in the restaurant. It was really good, the food,... more

Great deal for a warm, cozy guesthouse. And the food was really the experience that raised the bar as high as possible. Fabulous fresh food directly from the garden created into a high end dining experience. Wonderful. Really enjoyed owner, provided just the right balance of chat and privacy depending upon our mood. Highly recommend. Will absolutely return and have... more

...if you visit off-season during the week, you'll need to know that Donegal's high season ends mid-September, and apparently so does the warm fires and the restaurant; the restaurant is open only Friday and Saturday evenings during this time. Understandably, but it should be noted on the website. Despite this, we were able to get a taxi to a great... more

I have just returned from a fantastic two nights at this guest house and could not recommend it more highly. My mum, sister and I stayed in a triple room which was very comfortable and clean. It is located about a mile or so just Donegal town, which was perfect as it was very quiet yet convenient. There is a... more

Yes the accommodation was excellent ; clean, comfortable, with stylishly furnished rooms and lovely en-suite facilities. Yes, Theresa had placed the family together down one wing of the guesthouse so we had easy access to each other and Yes , the breakfast was cooked to a tee, plentiful in nature and a perfect start to the day. But what I'd really... more

During a 3-week tour of the UK and Ireland, this was the worst place in which we stayed. We stayed here because we heard the food was great and it was guesthouse of the year for 2009 (Whitepark House was 2008, and it's my favourite place to stay in Ireland). Despite booking for dinner, they closed the restaurant so the... more

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was told on arrival that the restaurant and bar is closed on a Monday, so just as well we had transport. Room decor old and worn. Smokers used the outside corridor the bedroom window to smoke. Breakfast basic served by a surly individual. On paying was told an extra 3.5 % was being charged for... more

Its not often I feel that a place merits praise but in the case of Ard na Breatha I have to say that it definately does. From the moment we arrived our very gracious host was so welcoming we felt so at home. Nothing was too much trouble. We were given a choice of rooms but one was as good... more
