In this premise you find both a restaurant and a b&b, in two separate buildings with a shared entrance. Now I’m rating the b&b. Well, this is not a b&b, it’s an “hotel de charme”. If I have well understood the english translation of the celtic name, “Lovely Highness” well describes where you will be welcomed by an extremely polite... More

Ard na Breatha is the perfect location for a peaceful getaway. The accommodation is very comfortable & spotlessly clean, the meals are top quality, & Theresa (the owner) is the perfect host, & always makes us feel most welcome. Last month was our third visit, & we look forward to returning again next year.

It was a year ago June, 2013, when I arrived. Sure, the weather was fantastic, but the people who ran this lovely hotel just off the edge of the town were the best part of the 4 day stay in Donegal. Theresa runs the hotel and Albert works the grounds and is the chef, and I mean chef, not cook.... More

I stayed one night with my family, 2 rooms. We used this as a base to explore the southwest of County Donegal including Slieve League. This is a beautiful semi-rural (horses and cattle in the nearby fields) guesthouse not far from Donegal town. It was not hard to find. We were warmly welcomed by Theresa and our rooms were ready... I took my elderly mother and my small dog to Ard na Breatha for a 2 night break (13-15 July 2014). We had such an enjoyable stay. Theresa and staff made us feel so welcome, and nothing was to much for them to do to help us. The food was exceptional and the dining room was full of charm. There... More

My wife and I spent two weeks in Ireland in mid-June. Ard na Breatha was our second night in Ireland. We were greeted upon arrival by Sarah, the house host. The guesthouse and restaurant were impeccably clean and tidy. Our room was spacious and wonderful. Sarah recommended we eat dinner at the Castle Inn in town, and we did. After... More

Stayed here for a night with my wife, nephew, and father-in-law. Beautiful place, clean, excellent large rooms. The staff was extremely friendly, the service excellent at the restaurant. We had dinner and it was excellent (I highly recommend the lamb shank). The public areas are spotless with plenty of comforts. The value can't be beat: such a reasonable price for... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your lovely positive review. We are lucky to be so near town and yet in the heart of the countryside. We stayed for one night in this guesthouse after having dinner there. Here you will find here the personal attention, missing in almost every hotel. The rooms however are comparable with those in a very good hotel. For dinner you can choose between a three course meal or a la carte. Prices are reasonable and there is a good choice... More
