We have had the pleasure of staying at The Arches twice now..... and love it so much we are returning this weekend. Noreen is the perfect hostess, warm, friendly and accommodating. Her home is beautiful. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and spacious and her traditional Irish breakfast is not to be missed. The views over Lough Eske are unobstructed... More

Arriving in early September I stayed eight nights at The Arches, wanting to touch my grandmother's Irish roots. Her father was born on this side of Lough Eske in 1868 and I had always longed simply to BE there, to walk the miles of country lanes, and to spend hours in solitude in the land of my ancestors. The Arches... More

We stayed for several nights in this absolutely, beautiful, sumptuous, tranquil and breathtakingly vie as s over Lough eske. We received such a very warm welcome from Noreen and from the minute we arrived, until we left, we were so very well looked after and we truly enjoyed the exceptional hospitality, warmth, friendly and attention to detail. Our room was... More

We recently spent two nights at the Arches County House. During our trip to Ireland we stayed in eight different B&B's and this one was definitely the highlight. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Noreen who gave us our choice of two first floor rooms overlooking the lough. The room was large and comfortable with a good sized ensuite and... More

When we arrived at this B&B we were so impressed. The house and grounds are beautiful. Noreen was there to greet us and showed us to our room which had a spectacular view. We didn't want to leave the room as it was spacious and peaceful. Noreen is a good cook and we enjoyed our breakfasts. We had French toast... More

We stayed for 2 nights at The Arches and it was wonderful. The first impression tells it all. The grounds were immaculately presented and the house was exceptionally clean and well presented. Our room was spacious and well appointed with a spectacular view of the old farm and Lough Eske. The beds were very comfortable and the shower hot and... More

Noreen is a very friendly and gracious host who'll spoil you from the moment you arrive. Her place is spotlessly clean and not a mark on any of the windows that gives you a very pleasant view of the superbly kept gardens. The rooms are large; very comfortable beds; spotless ensuite; an enormous, freshly cooked breakfast. I travelled with two... More

Noreen and Connie make you feel at home. Beautiful views. Clean rooms. Great beds. Nice breakfast included. Price is right. Fishing good (don't tell anyone). Donegal is the quintessential Irish town. Perfect!

Perhaps all other B& B operators in Ireland could make a trip to Donegal to see how a really good one operates?? Hosts were lovely, always there when you needed them but otherwise behind the scenes making sure all was perfect. Property is beautiful with magnificent garden and views over the loch. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was... More

This was without doubt the best b&b that we have ever been to on our travels. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the property itself was fantastic. The view from our room over the loch was idylic, and the breakfast matched every aspect of a first class stay. I would recommend The Arches if you are visiting Donegal... More
