The Railway Lodge was the first B&B we stayed at in Ireland and we couldn't have made a better choice. The house and room were decorated beautifully for Christmas and very large and comfy. The landlady had wonderful advise on where to eat that night. Town is an easy and pretty 5 minute walk. There is a large amount of... More

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights when our friends got married nearby. The room was comfortable with all we needed, the breakfast was delicious and the host fantastic. Having never been to the area before Sheila was a great source of information. She recommended and gave directions to a local supermarket to save us some... More

I did not stay here, but my friend and I stopped in to see about breakfast. We had been camping and wanted to try a full Irish breakfast, to start the day off well. When we asked the owner, she was quick to welcome us, showed genuine interest in our trip, and didn't seem annoyed that we were not guests.... More

What a warm welcome! Although it wasn't easy handeling a group of ten persons, we never felt like we were a bother to Sheila and her husband. On the contrary, they were very helpfull to make our stay a wonderfull experience! Very nice rooms, lovely breakfast (and more than enough), walking distance (five minutes) from the centre of Donegal. What... More

Warm people, perfect location! Tasty breakfast! It's near the centre of Donegal city. Once I will go back to Donegal county, and I will surely sleep at the Railway Lodge!! Thanks Sheila for everything. See you and Robert again. Merry christmas and a happy 2014! Sláinte!

Imagine: celebrating your 40th birthday in county Donegal, which is all about nature, friendly people, warm hearts and probably the best hospitality in the world!!! Well, it happened to me and my 9 friends this week. We stayed at the Railway lodge in Donegal town centre( it really was only a minute's walk to restaurants and great pubs!) for 4... More

Just back from Donegal . We stayed once again in the Railway Lodge and were welcomed with open arms by Sheila. It`s like going home staying in the Railway Lodge. The rooms are so comfortable, the location perfect, -just a short walk to the town centre , but in a tranquil location so a sound night`s sleep is ensured and... More

Great location which is close to everything. Owner is extremely helpful---even dried our wet clothing. Only complaint would be the firm bed. And I have nothing else to add but Trip Advisor sez my reviews must be at least 200 characters so I am just biding my time until I reach that number. This is not an easy thing to... More

We stayed in this B & B for four nights. Sheila spoiled us rotten. The rooms are lovely and spotless, and Sheila has also time for a chat. Breakfast is 100%! No matter what we wanted to know, she was there to help us. It is only five minutes walk to the center and bus-station. Any time we are in... More
