I had a pleasant experience staying at this b&b, while travelling to cork. Its located near a busy street. its affordable for an average traveller, yet it is a pleasant stay, with good breakfast. Stayed there one night and overall it was a comfortable experience.

I got there on November 20th coming from Dublin. My bus got stuck in a traffic Jam so I got to Cork much later than scheduled. I called the hotel to make sure they didn't leave outside since the reception closes at 10,00 pm. Jerry was very nice and he waited for me to get there. Gave me a warm... More

Having travelled to Cork during the Guinness Jazz Festival, I was surprised at the hike in prices for accomodation during the weekend. However Number Forty Eight was the exception. As a single traveller for just one night, this B&B was perfect. Situated next door to the train station and a only short walk into Cork City Centre, its location was... More

We spent one night with our charming host. Mr. Spillane was warm and welcoming and had lots of good recommendations and insight regarding local amenities and attractions. The accommodations were fine, the breakfast was very good and the atmosphere was very congenial. Of note, the B and B is located on a very busy street with limited parking but lots... More

Jerry the host has gotten some bad reviews but he just isn't warm and fuzzy. He is a kind man. As far as the stay goes the rooms are extremely small and on a slant. It is very clean but nothing luxurious about the place. Breakfast was good and he had a lot of options. Shower went ice cold and... More

I am quite startled by some reviews here, this man is despicable and uncouth not fit to run a B&B, A friend of mine landed in today to do her masters in Social Policy at University College Cork, as the demand for accommodation is very high at the moment in Cork, we decided that she spends some nights in a... I was quite suprised by some earlier reviews as this is the cleanest b&b I've ever resided in - the room was spotless and the bathroom pristine! Location is great obviously, but no noise from the train station nearby. Host is extremely friendly and passionate about his job, Cork town and Ireland in general. Lovely breakfast, very pleasant stay.

Excellent choices for breakfast each day and freshly cooked to order, the full Irish breakfast will last you all day! Comfortable room all the basics covered. Gerry's two helpers, Lacey and Ursula were friendly and efficient. Towels changed daily. We used the train several times and it couldn't have been easier, the bus stop in the station yard was very... This guy is a horrible human being. First my girlfriend was a bit sick so he said no one is allowed in the place sick, finally convinced him to let us stay since we didnt have any where else to go, then i was on the phone around 11 to let her mother know what was going on then he... More

I have read a couple of reviews about how mean or cranky Jerry is. Sure at first I was worried but I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and accommodating he was. We actually showed up pretty late in the evening and he didn't seem to mind at all. The place is located in a part of town with lots... More
