We never had the chance to stay at the fully booked and very lovely Fernroyd House but can attest that we missed out on a wonderful stay. Avril and Tony generously offered to assist us with finding us an available room when we were left without a place to stay for the night. They invited us in, let us use... More

From the hospitality of the owners (and their friendly dogs), the tasty breakfast up to the rooms, I can highly recommend this B&B! And if you follow the recommendations of Tony and Avril you'll get great food and/or live music in town. Thanks for that 😊

We stayed there with our 12 year old son for two days. The breakfasts are the best we had in all of Ireland and we couldn't get enough scones (homemade, with homemade jam). Avril and Tony are wonderful hosts. Suggest great places to eat and truly are interesting to talk to. They take great pride in their place and their... More

Avril & Tony gave us that warmest of Irish welcomes and went out of there way to give us as much information as possible to make the most of our short stay. Ideally located next to the University and the Lewis Glucksman contemporary art gallery with a short walk to the centre of the City with ample on street parking... More

This B&B deserves to be No 1 in Ireland. It is completely without fault. The rooms are so clean with superbly comfortable beds. We stayed in the annex which is just a couple of doors away from the main house and as well as a super room there is a communal lounge and kitchen area with everything that anyone could... More

This was our third visit to Cork and third time with Tony & Averil. It is so good to put the car away and be able to walk on a nice pub crawl of Cork City. As usual the room ( even has a fridge ) and the breakfast was top notch. Trip Advisor reviews can be a bit hit... More

Perfect location, quiet but close enough to walk to town and many of the sights. Tony and Avril are exceptional hosts and make you feel right "at home". Avril's fresh scones at breakfast are out of this world. Tony is extremely helpful with tips on things to see and do. House is clean, comfortable and we were thankful to have... More

We stayed at Fernroyd House in the fall 2014 as part of a one month trip to Ireland. This has to be one of the nicest B&B's in terms of hospitality, location food and comfort we have ever stayed at in our travels throughout Europe and Canada. Tony and Averil are consummate hosts that truly go,above and beyond to make... More

This place is a hidden gem near University College Cork. It's close enough to walk into town but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of it. It's close to nearby attractions and feels safe walking at night. It's located on a small road just up the hill from the main drag so it's a quiet spot... More

Tony and Avril are just exceptional, they are what makes Fernroyd stand out from all the B&B choices in Cork. The breakfasts are just superb and you have at least 10 options from which to choose. Tony is helpful with options for food and places to see. Believe him when he says Blarney Castle is worth a visit, in spite... More
