Cyril is perhaps the greatest B&B host of all time! He seems to know everything about the area and anything he doesn't know he'll find out for you. the B&B is amazing and wonderfully decorated in antiques with a Greco-Roman motif. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My friend and I stayed with Cyril for 4 days and had an...

A comfortable house, full of interesting books and antiques. We had a lovely large room with views of the river. Breakfast was excellent. Cyril was a wonderful host. It is a short walk to town but not far. A lovely place to stay if you find yourself in Cork.
We enjoyed our stay in our spacious room with a river view in Cork! Cyril was so kind and informed us of local history, events, places to see. His breakfasts were excellent and so cozy with the nice silverware, fresh fruit, and yummy yogurt. He helped us get to Blarney Castle and to Cobh and gave us good advice on...

Cyril Shanahan, the host, is the epitome of graciousness and hospitality. He made us feel utterly welcome. His historical context guided our touring off the beaten track and into some fabulous adventures.
We could not have asked for a lovelier Georgian home experience, overlooking the river, among world travelers at breakfast made to order.
Thank you, Cyril, for a fabulous...

Months before my actual 3 night stay at Emerson House, Cyril the host, provided me with emails that contained incredible history of the Hotel itself and the surrounding area. I've traveled extensively and I can honestly say, I've never stayed in a place that felt more like "home" than this. Our room was HUGE, with period furniture and decorations. Each...

He went out of his way to make sure we had a good understanding of the area and all it had to offer. He made recommendations and was amazing to just sit down and talk to....

A great hidden gem: fantastically decorated, charming large rooms, low cost, great view, perfect host: Cyril knows all the facts about the local scene as well as Ireland as a whole, and one could talk to him all day. Gay friendly with advice on local hangouts and events. Cyril even too the time to guide me to the best tourist...

I knew it was a perfect stay as soon as I booked it. Cyril, without me even asking, gave me loads of information about Cork and the house way before I got there. He let me check in early and even went to pick me up at the station, carried my bags to the room, and, partly because I was...

Had a wonderful stay here. It's a short walk to the city center, without all of the noise. I came on my own, didn't know another soul in Cork but the host made me feel very at ease and told me about what there was to see and visit while in Cork. Felt safe here and loved the atmosphere of...
