Unfortunately the stay didn't start too well when the electronic keycards given to me at reception failed to work. Thankfully a handyman happened to be on the corridor and used his master key to let me in. He then had to spend time re-programming / cleaning the key pack on the door so that it would work. I then tried... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Good location, secure parking close by, lovely foyer and public rooms, bedroom, very friendly staff. Ate in the Bistro, interesting menu, a bit different, reasonable price, good bar area, good Wifi in rooms.

A large hotel just across the River Lee from the town centre, in the Shandon which has a lot of decent little pubs and eating options (although is a little rough round the edges). Friendly staff, very clean room. A bit noisy at night with a lot of sound carrying in the corridors, but fine overall. Reasonable breakfast. Two minor... More

We usually stay in this hotel during our visits to Cork. My parents had their Wedding there in 1957! My husband and I were treating 3 friends to a 'Thank You' meal at the Metropole dining room. The other lady and I both opted for the King Prawns in Filo. They looked like shaved down worms rolled in cardboard. I... More

Stated here with my 10 year old son to go to the marquee. Hotel us in perfect location right in city centre. Car park us handy for €7.50 is great you can come and go as often as you wish in 24 hours. And if it's closed just phone reception and they send someone down with key to open it.... More

My daughter and I stayed overnight while I visited her on spring break during a semester abroad in Dublin. The room was clean and had 2 comfortable beds. Location was excellent as we were using public transportation the entire time. The breakfast was very good, the dining room was dated but the food was good. All of this and only... More

As a hotel within walking distance of everything in Cork there is no better choice. Breakfast was superb. The room spotless. The bar lacked a little atmosphere so headed for pint just down the street. Staff professional and welcoming. Well done all

The hotel is fine but the room I stayed in was very tatty. Tares in the curtains and bedding, very tired bathroom and furniture you would see staying at a cheap hotel, which is fine if you were paying the cheaper prices. When I mentioned it at reception the girl could not have been less interested and informed me the... More
