Just back from a lovely few days in Cork ,stayed in Gresham Metropole Mc Curtain St. Nice hotel great base to go exploring Cork. Grand old hotel with lovely staff (Lorraine at breakfast very chatty and full off knowledge ) Food nice and tasty & the Met bar nice and relaxing. On the downside our room was too hot and... More

A group of us travel to Cork each year for a salsa dance congress held in the hotel. As usual, the hotel was clean, friendly and perfect for our needs, but this year, the staff seemed to go beyond our expectations and so I wanted to review the hotel as many reviews are often negative. They have a Bistro restaurant... More

Got a good deal on the Gresham after recommendation from a friend, understanding the rack rate was a good bit higher. We used the Gresham as base camp to explore Cork (Blarney, Midleton, etc) and did not spend much time at the hotel. For our purposes the hotel was fine, but if you like to lounge in your room you... We had family get together, for an uncle of mine, who was on holiday from LA. We were allocated "The Cockburn Room" that was beautifully set up for buffet meals, The tables setting includes large and small candles that created a lovely warm atmosphere. We had chosen salmon and chickens dishes which we perfectly hot and wonderful selection of salads.... More

very good location for visiting cork city. food was excellent with service being very good only downside was our room which was very small for 2 people you would need bionic arms to reach the toilet roll holder in the bathroom.

This hotel came highly recommended, and indeed it's aesthetically lovely and classic. Spacious, well adorned lobby and ornate halls. But the rooms are tiny, and for €105 a night, not worth it. The rooms have no electrical outlets in reach of the bed, which is very inconvenient. They're equipped with old analog television sets instead of flatscreens. Also, no environmental... More

I stayed in the Gresham Metropole for three nights, I found the staff very friendly and helpful. It was my first time in Cork and the hotel was very central. The food was very good and the hotel comfortable. I recommend the Everyman Palace theatre on MacCurtain Street for a good night out or the Cork Opera House. Parking and... More

This is a nice, classic hotel across the River Lee from the shopping and downtown district. MacCurtain Street also has a bunch of nice pubs, restaurants and carry outs. The SPAR store across the street is very handy for knick-knacks, hygiene needs, snacks, bottled water, coffee, scones, etc. What you can't find at the SPAR, you can find down along... More

My fiancé and I are actually staying here as I write this...it's 1 am and we can't sleep because we are on the top floor with no AC, the beds are horribly uncomfortable, the pillows are hard and flat and the lights just went out in our room. This is our second night here. Like many of the other reviews... More
