Great staff. They told us the best thing to do was walk and follow the "recommended walks" posted in the city center. They are very large signs and easy to follow. Thanks to their advise, we saw many things. The room was ample and the bed was comfortable.

A group of us stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. As mentioned in previous reviews, the walls are thin and some décor a bit dated. However there are lots of great things about the hotel- the staff are extremely good and friendly, the leisure centre is great and the central location is hard to beat. The bar is lovely... More

We ordered fish in cider batter, rustic chips, two dips. When it arrived the fish was miniscule, more batter than fish, it would literally be hard to fill a tablespoon with fish, a small container of "rustic' chips which were not sizzling hot as chips should be. The service was very good but the quality and quantity of the meal... More

I just came back from a 3 night stay at the Metropole. It's probably the best City Centre location of any Hotel in Cork. The bar and restaurant areas are nice and spacious and the lesiure centre and Pool are good however the rooms are disappointing and are badly in need of upgrading especially the en suite bathrooms. However I... More

My wife and I travelled with our 6 month son to Cork to look for a house. I chose the Metropole because of the value, location and swimming pool. It delivered on all fronts. The staff here are genuinely friendly and my pre stay email requests answered swiftly. The room, not massive or technologically advanced by any means, was comfy... More

I stayed at the hotel Last night and on a whole was quite disappointed. I have previously stayed in the hotel and thought it was lovely. But must say this time the standard seems to have slipped. Our room a suppose to be double did not seem to be what I would class a double, it was on the 4th... More

Excellent location. Room was spacious and comfortable. I brought my daughter to a concert at The Marquee. Parked in the car park around the corner and caught a cab to the Marquee. The hotel was very busy as there was a conference on but it was perfect for what we wanted on this stay.
