Finding this B&B was a bit of a nightmare – but thankfully, once there you can walk everywhere. As advertised, the food at this place is overwhelming abundant and really good!! Rooms were spacious and clean. Unfortunately, our room overlooked a busier street that seemed to have traffic through the night. (Light sleepers – beware!) Hospitality was great, and we... more

From the time you walk in the door you feel as if you are really welcome, nothing is too much trouble. The welcome tea fresh scones, chocolate cake, fruit cake and a really decent cup of tea is just what you need especially if your flight was sent to Shannon instead of landing in Cork. After gorging ourselves we made... more

I travelled with a group of 14 people & we had an absolute wonderful stay. all the people at Garnish house were extremely helpful and accommodating to us. 10 people stayed at a house about an 8 minute walk up the street - they had the entire house to themselves - huge kitchen, every room had their own bathroom and... more

The location is a good walk from the centre of cork, But the very helpful staff made our short stay more eventful, The room that we stayed in was clean but very dated and in need of a good make over. The breakfast was very good and lots of choice. more

Garnish House was everything that was advertised, and more. We were, indeed, greeted at the door when we arrived by a friendly manager who asked "tea or coffee with your scones?" Then escorted us to a beautiful dining room where a fresh spread of scones, breads, and pastries was served to us (with home-made jams and clotted cream) before we'd... more

If you are visiting the UK, go to Ireland last. We started in Ireland and stayed at the Garnish House and it made the meal at every other B&B place we stayed seem mediocre. They have great hospitality and wonderful food. The area was under construction with renovations throughout but the B&B was wonderful just the same. more

We have found this amazing Garnish House B&B on the Western Road in Cork. We arrived just to ask the price for a one night stay but was invited in for complimentary afternoon tea by this wonderful woman Johanna Lucey. She brings us into this very comfortable room and very soon presents us with a tray of homemade scones with... more

In September 2009 my husband and I travelled by car around Ireland, the first B&B we stayed at was the Garnish House in Cork. That set the bar very high for any accomodations we found after that. The Garnish House was clean, comfortable, folks there were welcoming, helpful and delightful. The scrumptious welcoming tea was a perfect way to be... more

This was our second time staying at Garnish House (first time was 2008). My sister and I, along with our two daughters stayed here for 3 lovely nights in July. Last year we were here with our husbands and loved it so much we decided to return with our girls so they could connect with their Irish roots and enjoy... more
