I stayed at Sheila's Hostel for two nights. The hostel is centrally located and therefore easy to reach without your own transport. It is not expensive and the staff are friendly. There are several dorms, a lounge, kitchen, cinema room (which seems to be rarely used) and shared showers. The dorm room I had was clean but overcrowded (if every... More

There are some good points there. It is undeniable. Location is really good, right in the heart of the city. Kitchen is huge and well equipped (I have never seen so many ovens in the same place in my life). Call me picky if you want, but I just cannot go beyond that. Internet, working in the lobby only, is... More

My partner and I stayed only one night in Cork - in a double room at Sheilas. Although we had trouble finding it driving (due to the strange roads and one-way streets of Cork), once we were close, we saw a couple of signs directing us to the hostel which was a help. Pros: - nice big double bunk bed... More

Fantastic for a place to throw your bags and get out in to Cork, but showers are limited to only a few for women, had to wait a good hour for a shower to become free - but presume the hostel was full for St Pats Day, so no drama. Very friendly staff, good Irish hospitality :)

I stayed for a week, and to get there was the hardest part. You have to go up the steep hill, followed by the stairs to get to your room. I wouldn't recommend this place for one-night stay. Apart from that, I had a relaxing time at Sheilas. I was able to use free wi-fi in my dorm room on... More

Overall had a good time in this hostel. The private room we stayed in was very basic and the sheets didn't seem clean but they room was cheap. They have a great kitchen, with good cooking facilities and plenty of room for food. The location is good, however a very steep climb, especially for those carrying backpacks. Staff were polite... This is a pretty run of the mill hostel. It's within walking distance to the city centre though certainly not in it. The rooms are OK. The staff are very friendly. The bathrooms are a bit ordinary though. The dining and living area is OK too. All in all there's nothing really bad to say about it but nothing fantastic... More

It's a very big hostel, with a decent size well equipped kitchen. Very close to city centre, lots of pubs in the vicinity and a carpark just in front of the hostel. Bunkbeds in dorms are amazingly sturdy and you don't actually feel when a person on the top/bottom bunk is turning and moving, which is quite rare. These were... More

I had been travelling around Ireland, staying at B&Bs and thought of a hostel in Cork as I was only going to be there for one night, and coming in late at that. Had read good reviews, but overall, I now remember why I don't stay in hostels anymore. As hostels go, it is fine. I had paid for a... More
