I specifically booked this hostel because I had such a great experience there the 1st time I went 10 years ago. It was just as nice as I remembered with wonderful, informative staff, clean facilities and a big kitchen and dining area. It's in a good location albeit on a hill so be prepared to climb back everytime you leave. more

A friend and I stayed at Shiela's for our first trip to Ireland. The Skylink shuttle dropped us about 200m from the hostel. We were greeted by a Russian-sounding man with a bit of an Irish accent. We had a hard time understanding him, but we paid our $120 for our 4-night stay and went on up to our room.... more

This place was awful. The rooms smelt terrible. In one room, it smelt like someone had vomited and it was left to soak into the carpet. Truly awful. The only good thing about this place was the free internet. The staff were ok, accept for the woman who made me email 3 times before she would confirm my reservation. When... more

Rooms were small but ok. Quite clean and relatively comfortable beds although tended to be a little chilly. We found he hostel very noisy in the mornings even though we were heavily reprimanded when coming in from a night out at 3am the previous night. The problem was not that we were told to keep the noise down it was... more

It' a nice hostel with many facilities. Breakfast isn't included but you can have a small one for 3 euro: it includes milk or tea or coffee, toast, butter, marmelade or cereals. It's near the city centre and for this reason you must pay the parking.. In front of the hotel you have to pay it from 8 a.m. to 18 p.m. except... more

I stayed in Sheilas last week, yes the rooms are a bit small but the other facilities are fantastic, the Cinema is a dark room with loads of comfy bean bags and open day and night, All the front desk staff were very helpful and as I was leaving there was a delivery of over a 100 new mattresses. more

A nice hostel on the northside of Cork city, within easy walking distance of the main drag, the room we stayed in was a dorm for 4, got very warm at night. Room was ensuite but toilet facilities v. basic. Living area was very quiet we went in and were chatting away and we were getting dirty looks from people.... more

Sheilas was the first Hostel we stayed in during our Ireland trip. It lived up to my resevations about hostels. The staff was nice but dealing with many comings and goings from behind a counterThe room was clean but a little dingy. Unfortunately it was right by the balcony where everyone gathers so it was loud until about 23:00. It would... more

What a nice weekend we had a Sheila's! We wanted to finish our trip round Ireland with a quiet, relaxing stay in Cork and Sheila's was the place to be!
