My wife and I spent three nights here. We were generally happy with our experience. For a hostel I'm not sure we could have expected better. We paid for a private en suite room. It was a very small room with bunk beds, but it was functional and we were backpacking. They had lockers to rent for cheap (definitely recommend).... More

I guess the only good thing is that you are close to the town and don't have far too travel. The internet picture if very deceiving. I pictured a nice room and clean. I've stayed in about 17 different hostels in the past 3 weeks.... There are nice hostels, OK hostels, and then these kind. The appearance from the street... More

This place is the worst I have seen. Or room was stuffy with 2 tiny windows at the top of the wall that you couldn't open. The room had mold on the wall and smelled musty. The sheets were old and pilled. The hallways and common areas felt grimy. The showers were even dirtier and had moldy shower curtains and... More

I've been to Cork for one week with my classmates of pharmacy from France and our professors. First, I'd say that it's not easy to go with big bags at the hostel, you have to climb, climb and climb, and then you face the stairs ! Stairs before coming, stairs in the hostel. I was in a 6 beds-room with... More

Sheila's Hostel was great. From here you are walking distance to the bus, train, and the down town district. The staff is very helpful. They will tell you where good places to eat and hang out are in the city, and help you with directions to get there. The rooms are a bit small, so if you are good with... More

Sheila's has a great staff. The breakfast is good and includes orange juice. Bedding and a pillow are included but the commons room closes at 2:00am. Wish there were lockers under the beds; the only lockers available are on the ground floor.

My friend and I were taking a road trip around Ireland and had been driving until late into the night and ended up sleeping in our car. While we didn't stay at Sheila's, in the morning when we got to Cork we asked the staff there if we could wash our faces and use the facilities, to which they opened... More

Sheilas is perfectly located from the Bus Station and also main area of town. They have lockers downstairs for your big bags while waiting for check in (2pm+ I think?!) The rooms are big, beds are comfortable and generally rooms were warm. they have a large kitchen and dining area. Book swap and downstairs "hanging" area. Pros: - dorms had... More

Shared dorm and communal areas were clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location - bit of a short steep walk up, but not a problem at all if you have no mobility problems. My stay was over a bank holiday weekend so it was full, expected lots of noise throughout the night, but didn't happen at all. Great... More

The staff at reception were really helpful, my room was small but clean i had my own shower / toilet. (the shower still had some old soap in the tray but otherwise clean) Location was handy and central to some good pubs etc. There was a full kitchen to use. If I travelled to Cork again i would stay there.
