I stayed here with my Paddy Wagon group in two different rooms and our experiences were quite different. I was in a 3 bed with the bathrooms outside in the hall; I felt like I was in a prison cell and the door was so loud that avoiding waking up my friends was not an option. The bathrooms were clean,... I stayed here this past week, it was busy and full of life but on weeks not as busy I can see it being a bit dull. Pros: -amazing staff: the staff was so friendly and helpful. I left my kindle in the common rooms and a staff member found it and held on to it, it was later returned... More

On the positive side, Kinlay House is in a great location. And even with 7 beds per room there is a semblance of privacy because two sets of bunk beds are tucked in little alcoves. On the negative side, the bedding had seen better days. We stayed two nights on the first leg of our trip to Ireland) and returned... More

I was touring Ireland and booked this hostel at the last minute in the hopes of a good Irish hostel experience. Unfortunately this hostel isn't so much relaxed as completely dead : old folks home style dead. The place was dead quiet on a Friday night and when I met up with some German guys we got rudely kicked out... More

A good location near the city centre! Good size rooms and beds good common area plenty of computers good wifi! Breakfast was good! Staff were helpful with a place for dinner and pub for a few brews! Well worth staying here! Close to the river and easy access to the walking streets!

Kinlay Hostel is a very decent place to spend the night. I was able to rent a single room and was very satisfied with my stay there. I even snagged my own bathroom so I was very happy with just about everything. The room was huge for one person although most of the space was taken up by my bed... More

Loved this place, very central with great pubs and museums about. It is also only 10 minutes walk to the bus station..a big plus..:). You can book lots of tours but we took the hopper bus which allowed us to see all of Cork and its highlights for €20. Think it was a real favourite place.

If you want a cheap stay this is an ok place to stay , i just couldn't get over the staff , they were so unhelpful. one girl in particular on reception with glasses was very rude and couldn't care less about the guests didn't give us any information. I went down the next morning for a tea bag and... More

I stayed in a lot of hostels but this one was definitely a little better than the rest. It didn't have a lot of frills or a lot of cool things but it was very cheap and very clean. The location was pretty cool with a lot of great things to do in the area. I'll definitely think about staying... More

I've never stayed in a hostel before but thought my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) would give it a try. A friend made us last minute reservations. We struggled to find the place, checked in for €18 each a night, and received a family room, ensuite, with 4 beds. The beds and pillows were ok, the shower and... More
