This is a large hostel with friendly staff just a few minutes walk from the centre of Cork. The fact that it is away from the city centre means it is quieter and therefore easier to sleep, especially at weekends, than at some of the more centrally located hostels. For my room the price was reasonable and the room and... More

I stayed here for two nights at the end of April. It was easy to find from the bus station; not a long walk at all, even with a heavy backpack! It was close to the city centre, but far enough away to be nice and quiet at night. My single private room was spacious and had everything I needed.... More

We stayed here for one night as part of our 10 night All Ireland tour with Paddywagon Tours (highly recommended). The location was good - about a 5 to 10 minute walk across the bridge to the city center where there were loads of restaurants, pubs and shops. We were on the second floor in a room facing the street.... More

Stayed in the B&B, connected to the hostel, as part of the "Deluxe Package" with Paddy wagon. Holes in the ceiling, walls, floor, bathroom, etc. NO HOT WATER. Breakfast was ok and it is close to the city center. Avoid if possible.

I stayed at Kinlay House as part of a large group (10+) of 20 somethings travelling to Cork for the Cork Jazz festival 2011, and this hostel, with its crazy higgldy piggeldy layout met all of our needs. The good: The staff were able to accommodate my booking at the last minute, despite it being on of the busiest weekends... More

Now you may think I can't make this claim, but having stayed in every hostel in Cork and probably 90% of the hotels here I can. Kinlay House is the best and CLEANEST! Even beats some of the cheap end hotels I have stayed in here. Probably the cleanest hostel in any big city in Ireland... and for some unknown... More

I stayed here recently with a group of friends and i cannot recommend this place enough!! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by kind and efficient staff. The hostel itself is located in the most historical part of the city.... Shandon, and it is within less 5 minutes walk to the city centre. We stayed in one of... More

We are a mature couple and had a pleasant stay at Kinlay House when visiting Cork. Yes, rooms need of revamp but we were given a spacious double ensuite although basic it is a hostel, for the price it was fine. Cork centre not too far away, around 15 mins and walk back at night fine. Staff were nice and... More

Guy at desk seemed helpful enough and decent internet room if needed it at all. Bit outside of the town but would imagine... More
