We were here for a 2 night weekend stay before moving on to Kinsale for some sailing the following week. We were given a room in the new part of the Hotel at the back and were pleasantly surprised to find how roomy this was with a very large bathroom as an added bonus. Everything felt luxurious as well as... more

It was with difficulty I eventually found this hotel. The hill was difficult enough but the roadworks at the green kiosk really tested my driving skills. Not surprisingly there were no coach parties at this hotel - no way could a coach make it. Having said that once we arrived we received a warm welcome and shown to our room... more

we arrived at 930 am and were told we couldnt check in early as no rooms were availble - we did think this was a bit implausible as the hotel itself was very quiet as we didn't see any guests and also the car park was under half filled - but I cant prove that , but it was just... more

We arrived at Hotel on the 29th may for 3 days. Easy check in with realy friendly staff. Our room was large with a balcony with great view of city. Everywhere in the Hotel was spotless. We didnt have lunch or evening meals in hotel as we like exploring for good restaurants. What we saw looked good and there seemed to... more

Bit tricky to find but room was lovely. Large room with heaps of space and only thing missing is a mini fridge which would be handy. Big clean bathroom. Reception staff helpful. Great nights sleep in massive bed! more

Found this hotel at a great price and was a great choice. Staff were friendly especially the night shift doorman who kept the bar open a bit late and was quite a conversationalist. more

A lovely hotel after an initial problem - somebody had smoked in the room we had been allocated, but when I expressed concern we were immediately shown to a lovely room with a balcony. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was plentiful. However, you need to be very fit as the hotel is not in the centre and quite difficult to find... more

Nice staff, located not too far from the city centre (even though there is a very steep hill!) and we had a large room at the front of the hotel which overlooked the city. There are closer hotels to Turners Cross and the centre, but with the price we paid, more than happy with the stay more

The Ambassador Hotel is housed in a converted Victorian Hospital building with a modern block built at the rear of the original building (my room and this review relates to a room in the old Victorian part). The room I occupied was on a corner and so was probably a little larger than a standard room and has a large... more
