nice, stylish hotel. we stayed for 2 nights before flying on holiday in November with 2 kids. room was spacious, 2 double, 1 single. we spent lots of time in the swimming pool, which was clean and nicely set up, so there was a corner for everyone. bar food was 4* quality, tasty enough (that's not as obvious as it... This is a large, very well presented hotel located on the ring road adjacent to Cork City. Staff are pleasant and efficient. Dinner was very good. The bedroom, though small, was fresh and functional. However, in the bar, the prolonged and uncontrolled spluttering and coughing by one of the barmen over both patrons and consumables was totally unhygienic and a... More

Had our Christmas party last night in the hotel. Found the function hall nice and festive. Food service fine but fish main course a bit of a disappointment. Salmon was great but the white fish clearly gone off. Bar staff in the bar was seriously inadequate, between the six staff members to serve 8 customers seemed a little bit too... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on tripadvisor. Firstly I want to address your comments on the fish, we have strict guidelines and checklists that we adhere to here at the Hotel and the fish was delivered fresh that very day. Maybe the fish was not to your liking but to make a statement... More

My husband stayed with his mum her recently when she was attending the Mater in Cork. Regret they had some unusual instances with staff, that appear similar to other reviewers. Reception - Cold and unfriendly; Restaurant staff - Similar- included refilling milk/ sugars with not one utterance; Bar Food - when asked for chicken without oil/ dressing one evening -... More

Paid extra for an upgrade as suggested by other reviewers and was not disappointed. Loads of space in room. Atmosphere in hotel was good but I think this was down to the Christmas parties. Had requested when booking that a cot be put into room and I also sent another email on day of arrival to confirm booking and cot... More

We stayed at the Rochestown Park hotel for 5 nights during October. Two adults and two young children. Location is good and secure. Easy access to the shopping area of the city. Great leisure facilities and swimming pool.

Stayed for 2 nights in November. Rooms were clean and spacious. Hotel lacked atmosphere. Felt like you had to whisper in reception areas. Weird party held on the Saturday night that took over the whole reception area. Why not have it in one of the many reception rooms. Not really a child friendly hotel.

Fabulous hotel. Airy but cosy at the same time. Rooms are big as are bathrooms. And spotless. Beds comfy and room warm. Fabulous food served down in lounge. Really cosy and great buzz about the place. Lovely to stay on business or leisure. Location great , walking distance to Douglas village with shopping centre.

My boyfriend and I stayed during the weekend of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival 2014. It is an extremely well kept spacious hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly, but not overly so. However, there was one who was exceptional - a lady overseeing breakfast. Due to the hotel being so busy as a result of the above-mentioned festival,... More
