I stayed here for one night on business. The room was warm, the facilities were excellent, and the staff were very nice. BUT - if you're at the back of the hotel, you have the pleasure of the Shandon Bells quite frequently, until quite late. Some soundproofing would be great! Additionally, the smoking area is dismal. It's two chairs and... More

As one of the organisers of a night out for a group of 32 Darren and the staff of Stir restaurant at the Maldron made life a piece of cake to organise. All had a beautiful dinner from an extensive and inexpensive menu. Lively night followed in the bar great music terrific atmosphere. The new decor complimented our well dressed... More

We were greated by a very unfriendly lady at reception and was very inconsiderate about the customers and business for the hotel..it really did set the tone for our few nights there and again when we were going she was quiet snobby and she didn't even thank us when leaving, for this reason I will not be returning..

the receptionist when we arrived was unfriendly and set an unpleasant atmosphere. the room was cold and there were things not up to standard like the dirty ironing board an unfinished bathroom and a cracked headboard ! the bar food wasn't good !

Good Points: Large Room. Pool not too crowded. Quiet Location. Walking distance to English Food Market. Room Service was absolutely gorgeous. The food was amazing. Wifi was great and available all over the hotel. Bad Points: Elevators are small and make weird noises. When we checked into our room wet towels were on the floor as ceiling was leaking. Somebody... Four of us booked to spend New Year in the Maldron Hotel in Cork because it was a good deal and we needed a hotel within walking distance of everything. staff were very nice, hotel room was comfortable, only complaint would be the lack of proper lighting.(.poor lighting is nearly a given in most hotel rooms anyway) fire alarm went... Stayed 5 nights over including new years eve. Have to say it was very hit and miss as regards value for money. Took the advice of previous guests and asked for a room on the third floor. The room its self was excellent newly refurbished and a lovely bathroom only complaint you have to stand on a chair to see... More

I stayed in The Maldron for 4 days during the summer with my family. We had a great stay. The hotel is very central, the food was lovely and the staff were great. There is a lovely family run sweet factory beside the hotel, which the kids loved. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel (easy... More

Rooms outdated and small ,some repair needed, ,thermostate was broken, bed site table knobs where missing.Parking can be an issue as hotel car park is very small and street is full too. I am not sure if the Maldron is considered a Budget hotel but some more TLC can make a big difference.
