Bru bar and hostel is settled in a perfect location and you never have to walk far anywhere! The staff were quite friendly although it did seem abit disorganised when i was there.! The bar is small but lively with live music every night which is great if you don't feel like adventuring out too far! Wifi is really slow... More

Stayed for 1 night last weekend, super friendly kiwi owner checked us in. Gave us tickets to an event at the Beamish Brewery. Room was fine, clean, tidy. Bunk beds ok, pillows were abit flat though - maybe time for an upgrade? Toilet paper in bathroom dispenser was left wrapped so was near impossible to get any out it. Blind... More

Hi Girls! Thanks for the comments! You only have to pull off the outer wrapping of the toilet roll and u'r away. The window blinds are only fixed before someone comes and breaks them again! I'm looking into alternatives. And finally pillows, I just ordered 100 new ones! Yes they were flat, so anyone reading this, BIG NEW FLUFFY PILLOWS... More

Stayed on the top floor on the Friday of the May bank Holiday weekend, The hostel, for that night atleast was fully booked up. Firsty with regards to the wifi, it in no way is available in the rooms, and just barely available in the bar area. The bar itself though is absolutely top notch and serves to provide a... More

Stayed in a Private room with my partner. Our room was gorgeous, it was at the front of the building and was bright with large windows and had a double bunk, a single bunk on top and a private ensuite bathroom. The beds were soft and comfy and the room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were... More

We stayed in a 6 dorm room, and room was too small. We didn't have space for anything. I was too close to person sleeping in a bunk bed across mine. About 50 cm between beds. Location is great, very close to center and to bus station. You pass through bar to get to rooms. It was clean. Hostel has... More

Stayed with 14 friends on a a 2 night break. Bar staff very friendly and nothing was an issue. Rooms were clean and we had en-suite. Can be noisy but that was fine by us and everyone said good value for money

I went to this hostel for 2 nights, and I found it very good and really quiet. The rooms have a small number of people (we were only 4 in mine) and are all en-suite, which is something I really appreciated. The hostel also provided a big kitchen that everyone could use (including fridge, ovens, cookers, etc...) and breakfast was... More

As Cork was part of my south - west trip, had to stay somewhere and found this place fine for me. Nice think i found was bar area.it may not be good first impression of place for people, but for me it's completely fine - to get to reception you have to cross all over bar. rooms in this place... The Bru Bar Hostel is located really close to the train station, and was easy to find upon our arrival to Cork. I stayed here with two friends for 2 nights. The rooms are quaint but clean, but what really makes this hostel awesome are the great people you find there! All the employees were really friendly, funny, and informative.... More

Me and a small group of friends stayed here for two nights. There wasn't much to complain about really, the staff were helpful and we were able to leave our bags there after we checked out. The rooms themselves were quite small but for a hostel it was grand. It was also very close to the city centre and the... More
