We were only at Bru Bar for one night but it more than sufficed. Three of us checked in to a four bed dorm and had it to ourselves which was an added bonus. Room was clean and fairly well kept, beds were comfortable enough and there was also a private bathroom. Free breakfast and the 5 euro washing service... More

I'm not sure where all the reviews of great staff come from. Between the 4 staff members I saw during my stay only one was very friendly the others looked quite miserable and not too helpful. Rooms were fine. Mine was right over the bar but can't complain as I knew there was a bar. As a female I wasn't... More

Stayed here with my sister and my roommate. It was an amazing time. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. The fact that there was a bar with live music and drink specials attached made it easy to start the night and to meet up with locals!

The rooms are very small. They charge the rate of a normal double bed hotel instead hostel rate. Kitchen very poor and mediocre breakfast. I spoke to the owner and he said Yes yes but he dont care... not recomandable.

I liked the location of the hostel, not being too far away from the popular places in Cork. The staff are very nice and helpful and the bar is open until 3am to the hostel residents. There is usually live music too, which was pretty cool to listen to. I must say that the only downfall was the showers. I... More

The rooms were a bit small but manageable. It was quite clean as well. I didn't like the breakfast or kitchen. I didn't feel like there's really a common room, you can hang out at the kitchen but is not comfortable. What made my stay pleasant was the live music at the pub. They had really good local bands playing... More

Arrived as a stag do and the friendly staff could not do enough for us. As hostels go the rooms were clean and tidy, not overcrowded. Great atmosphere in the bar which is open to the early hours of morning for hostel residents which was perfect, couldn't hear any noise from the room either. Great location as only a short... More

Stayed here for one night and couldn't wait to leave the next day. The room was tiny on the top floor, 2 bunk beds with a tiny alleyway next to them. The room was so stuffy as it was during Ireland's heatwave and even with the window open no breeze could rid us of the smell from our unwashed dorm... More

we only stopped or one night and as others have said you get what you pay for. you cant book a hostel and expect luxury! we were in a private double bunk room with ensuite on the first floor, clean and spacious enough. The kitchen and internet cafe was on our level so we had wifi if we stood by... More
