I booked a single room for a qwekend. I got a tiny attic room which was cold and I could hear mice scratching, every door open and close and noises from other rooms. There was a lot of noise from the street also. The first morning of my stay, I waited a v long time for service. When I got... More

Booked on line for a weekend trip to Cork with friends. The decor and ambience of the hotel is excellent, as was the cooked breakfast on Sunday. Angela, the owner clearly has an eye for fine things and couldn't have been more helpful. Definitely will stay again if visiting Cork.

A beautifully furnished establishment, comfortable stay and ideally situated for exploring the city. Walking distance to the city centre and an easy car ride to the Blarney Castle. Breakfast was good and we felt very much 'at home'.

Maybe B&Bs just aren't for me. Maybe I just prefer the anonymity of a hotel where the owner doesn't ask if you're siblings when you share a twin room with a friend of the opposite sex, where you don't have to explain why you might like a second room key, where you don't have to wait half an hour for... Booked a single room at the guesthouse but when I arrived I was offered a double room for no extra cost as not all the rooms were occupied. There was plenty of off street parking, the place was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The cooked breakfast was very nice.

Authentic website and accommodation portrayed is exactly what you get. Spotlessly clean & comfortable bedroom. Not ultra modern but homely decor and very well maintained. Clean shower/toilet area. Limited parking available. Great breakfast & well presented in a small tastefully decorated dining room. Definitely the best of the guesthouse/B&Bs on Western Road as standards variable in this part of city.

8 January 2013: The guesthouse is well located, a 15min walk into the city center. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The host was friendly and helpful. Breakfast served was excellent with a good range to choose from. Free WiFi is available and works well. Limited parking is available at the front of the guesthouse. Rooms are a little on... More

Beautiful interior and friendly staff. Room was a bit small, but really well furnished and comfy. Only complaint is that we had to ring the reception from within the hotel on our phones to get someone to come and check us out of the hotel after multiple rings of the reception bell and even a trip outside to ring the... Nice guest house 10 minutes walk from city centre. It is, as they advertise traditional decor, which is not for everyone. Every area is very clean and tidy, the room very comfortable. Breakfast was nice, but service a little slow, ordered sauce which arrived as we finished our food. Staff very friendly, tariff is quite expensive.

We stayed at the Blarney Stone Guest House for two nights and it cost €258 for two nights. This is about £100 a night and quite a lot. For the price I was expecting something quite special therefore. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. My rating of 3 out of 5 is that it was... More
