We were on around trip of the wild Atlantic way and one of our group booked this place as a stopover.Ok the parking is terrible, the rooms were old, the bathrooms were in need of an update. The room was huge for the price.I slept well too.Really you get what you pay for.The owner is a real character.I didn't risk... More

It's close to the market area at the town center. Very affordably-priced. Makes a nice-enough breakfast (think "continental" here) for a reasonable extra charge. Lodge has an "old" air to it. The fixtures in the room don't help - the other bed in our room looked much like the back of saddle-worn horse, with a noticeable sag in the middle.... More

Finally a place that does not exploit single travellers! 20 euros per person for doubles, but only 25 euros for a single occupancy! Think of that! Breakfast costs 5 euros extra. This is a simple place; no frills, but has lots of character in its variety of bedroom furniture. Spotlessly clean. Friendly owner. What more could you ask for? It... More

Booked a twin "room" for three nights which turned out to be quite large with two double beds both separated by a wall - heaps of space and much more than you would get in a hotel for the same price - great value. Well located within the town centre. We were also able to check out late without any... More

I stayed at the Banner Lodge just recently for 4 nights, and found it to be clean and comfortable. The owner Noel was always on hand ,and was very knowledgeable about Ennis and Co Clare. I would certainly stay here again.

My partner and I stayed in the banner lodge last night. As a guest house it is just what you need, no thrills yet still homely and welcoming. But what we found was how Helen and Noel could not do enough!! We accidentally left our passports and boarding passes in the banner lodge and Helen drove to Shannon airport just... More

Centrally located to pubs and restaurants. Noel & Helen were very helpful and the breakfast was not overwhelming. Good wi-fi connection and the price for two bedrooms was very reasonable.., centrally located to golf courses and popular sites. I would visit Ennis again.

Just as Lonely Planet had reviewed, it's a decent room that gets the job done, but service and frills are lacking in every way. When we checked in, the lady did not introduce herself or give us any helpful tips about the city, our room, or anything. We were shown to our room, given the keys, and asked for our... More
