The hotel isn't anything amazing. It's basic and could do with a facelift in most areas. (Small things such as the carpet on reception steps etc let the place down) However for what your paying its a nice cheap and cheerful getaway. Rooms are clean and have all the necessities. The leisure centre is a nice way to pass a... More

The Auburn Lodge is a history buffs dream. The glass work, wood interiors and decor is consistent with the period and very beautiful. The service was good and attentive. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was a little firm but not unacceptable. Dinner in the lovely restaurant was a treat. For what you pay, this hotel is very,... More

I stayed here with family for 3 days recently. I only picked the hotel as it was a last minute arrangement and, to be honest, it was the only hotel I could get. However, it was more than I expected in many ways. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful (especially Edna the restaurant manager). Although I... More

We were pleased with our large, clean and comfortable room and the friendly service. What makes it a really good choice is the leisure center that is available to guests. The indoor pool, jacuzzi and spa was great after a long day of being a tourist. There is also a grocery store next door which came in handy.

I recently visited this hotel for carvery lunch and on entering the hotel through reception I was greeted with the top of the heads of two receptionists who never even lifted them to exchange any form of greeting. I ordered lunch at the carvery and was told it would be a few minutes, not a problem, so I went back... More

We got a great deal for this hotel and stayed for 2 nights in a massive room! Staff were friendly, food was nice and leisure centre was handy! I can't say much more as we only stayed here for a flying visit to the cliffs but it was a lovely hotel, if I was going back to Clare I wouldn't... More

Stayed here Saturday night, receptionist gave a warm welcome and helped me with my case to the room. Yes it an old hotel but it is clean and has everything you'd need. Appreciated the complimentary two bottles of water in the room. Breakfast was nice, i only eat cereal & toast so it would be hard to get that wrong.... More

Very basic hotel and expensive for what it offers. Cushions on the bed all had stains on them and bathroom not very clean. Breakfast area and selection very small. Staff on reception not very friendly.

This old mansion like building is stretched out over a fair distance and has some confusing signs directing to rooms. Rooms smallish but with tea and coffee and kettle available. Bathroom had dreadful wall design tiles. Bar was ok and service ok though there were people at reception looking for staff at 7am. Our room was near back of building... More
