We stayed last year and again this past September, each time for a week. The house is warm and friendly, and the furniture is comfortable and cozy. Declan and Bernie feed you a full Irish breakfast, warm baked scones/breads and home-made jellies. The grounds are beautiful, and the drive up to the house is impressive. Declan's knowledge of genealogy is... More

There are numerous bland hotels in Ennis if you just want a bed and ensuite. However if you want genuine culture (none of your manufactured five star spas), stay at Newpark House. This is the real McCoy. The grounds are beautiful and so rural (yet the house is v close to town), the house is full if history and character.... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Newpark House. Situated on a wooded lot, up a narrow gravel drive sits the majestic 2-story manor home. The 300-year old house is lovingly furnished with antiques and collectibles from all over the country. We were well treated by our hosts Declan and his mother, Bernie, who made the scones, breads and blackberry jam... More

I really, really wanted to love this place but overall I was disappointed with my stay. I had a very similar experience to another reviewer as far as allergies are concerned. I woke up with a terrible headache and was very congested after a night at the house. The outside of the home was beautiful to drive up to and... More

I took my father on a road trip through Ireland for his 70th birthday, and stayed at the New Park House about mid-way through our trip. We truly enjoyed our experience there. The castle-like frontage of the building is stunning, as is the living room and dining room with the tall ceilings. The bedrooms and upstairs could use some updating,... More

This was ideal and unexpected after our tour in Ireland. The Barron family run a lovely hotel in a old manor house and your really get the personal touch which makes your stay very special. The hotel is only a kilometer from a lovely little town called Ennis too that there we really fell in love with during our trip... More

Thank you Declan and Bernie for taking us into your family and sharing your beautifully restored historic mansion. Historic elegance and style preserved with family hospitality and comfort added. We loved the communal table for breakfast in the dining room, met so many interesting visitors in our 4 night stay. I particularly enjoyed browsing in the library full of books... More

This certainly is a unique historic property worth staying at. Considering it's age (original sections dated back to the 17th century) it's maintained well. Run by a mother and son team, Declan and Bernie manage to keep things clean and well tended. The breakfast is in the original dining room and is an authentic experience not often found. Close enough... More

Stayed here with my wife and 2 adult sons in July. This was a nice change from the other B&Bs we stayed at. We loved the character of the house and the historic feel. Declan has a lot of info on Irish history and genealogy. The rooms were large and clean. it's away from the center of town so it's... More

I loved the experience of staying in Newpark. We stayed as a family with 3 kids ranging from 12 to 19. The grounds were very impressive while still appearing comfortable. The inside of Newpark is simply amazing. I was hit b the impression of travelling back in time while still have all the conveniences of modern living. The rooms were... More
