Spent one night here in early February. Eileen welcomed us like family. Good family, that is! The complementary tea and scones upon arrival were freshly baked. The room was clean and comfortable. And the breakfast next morning was one of the best I've ever had in Ireland. Highly recommended!

Cape Clear Island is a perfect place to relax and unwind. Eileen takes care of her guestsspeaker and provides them with anything (from welcome tea to full Irish breakfas) they need. The dining room is open all day and there is a good WiFi connection. If you don't mean to climb up a really steep hill with all your luggage,... More

On a recent bike trip around the Southwest, I went to Cape Clear on a whim from Schull . So last minute found a vacancy at Ard na Goithe and stayed for two nights. Just a terrific, totally relaxing really well run B and B. Friendly, spotless, bright rooms, amazingly quiet and with terrific food and friendly operators. Strongly recommend!!

I've stayed with the Leonards at Ard na Gaoithe on many an occasion and I am always met with the same friendliness and warmth, they always make time for you! I've always been made feel very welcome and I'd go so far as to call it a home from home. The rooms are clean and a quiet sleep is always... More

My wife and I recently spent 3 wonderful days on Clear Island. It was our first visit to this lovely island. We found the people were very friendly and helpful. We have been using B&Bs for more than 45 years and without doubt, in overall terms, Ard na Gaoithe B&B, run by the Leonard family, is amongst the top three... More

I went to Cape Clear with my boyfriend and our stay at Eileen's B&B was truly delightful. The room was very clean, and it was perfect for our needs; it has a nice en-suite bathroom, and a kettle and a hair-dryer are provided into the room, which is very comfortable. Eileen's hospitality was incredible; she's such a caring person and... More

Eileen Leonard's B&B is a true gem. I stay at Ard na Gaoithe each year to enjoy Cape Clear's excellent storytelling workshops. Eileen embodies Irish hospitality. She is a fantastic host, with a natural charm and care, that never becomes intrusive. The breakfast is wonderful (tip: try out the pancakes!). For those looking for a genuine experience of island life,... More

Next time we will take more time to enjoy this lovely island. We were warmly greeted by Eileen's daughter-in-law. She showed us to our rooms, which were clean and bright, and invited us to the garden for tea. A perfect little hide away.

Just back from Cape Clear, had a fantastic time lovey food and a warm welcome. This B&B has a great location on the top of the hill with a pretty garden leading into a warm cosy homestead and a delicious breakfast that will keep you going for the walks round the island.

A lovely family and a beautiful walk between the harbour and the house. I'd go back tomorrow if I could. Oileán Chléire is such a beautiful island that I'm reluctant to praise it too much, because I don't want it to get crowded with tourists. I've visited many Irish islands, and this is one of the best, with wonderful walks,... More
