This was our second stay at Arden Country House. It is quite literally the best place we have ever stayed. The house and grounds are so picturesque and the entrance hall is beautiful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious, the breakfasts are amazing and the owner, Beth, is extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. Her attention to detail is fabulous... more

I LOVE this 'boutique' bed & breakfast, and I challenge anyone to find a better one - anywhere! This was our second stay (our first being October 2008) and I never fail to be completely bowled over with the level of service and the standard of accomodation - there are a great many 5* hotels (if not most!) who should... more

This was the first B&B stay of a 10 day trip of Scotland, Ireland, and England (yes it was rushed!) and all the others could not match up to this. After flying for 17 hours with three layovers we arrived at this beauiful house surrounded by peaceful countryside. The moment we arrived we were shown to a sitting room and... more

Though it's a few years since our stay at Arden House, I've thought about the pace regularly and am determined to go back! Absolutely beautiful rooms with the utmost comfort, big bathroom, a lovely host and a great breakfast. If you're looking to explore Edinburgh and Glasgow, then Arden House is ideally situated between the two and is well worth... more

Absolutely dreamy. Beth Cruickshank greeted us warmly, and then served us tea on the patio, overlooking green grazing fields at this magical B&B south of Linlithgow. She had made the beautiful and delicious pastries herself that morning. Our suite was spacious, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully furnished. Breakfast the next morning featured a menu of so many creative and... more

We took two rooms here in late June 2008. This is an amazing place in a beautiful country setting. The rooms are very large with tasteful decor, huge beds and large en suite bathrooms (with The Tub toiletries). Everything is so clean and immaculate you wish this was your own home. There is the nice touch of chocolates and a... more

We had a delightful stay in the Morrison Room at Arden Country House for 2 nights in October. Beth was a wonderful host who appeared magically at the ring of a bell. The house is situated on a country estate about 5 minutes drive outside of Linlithgow. Everything is picture perfect, the bedroom is beautifully decorated and the bathroom is... more

I cant remember having enjoyed a more comfortable, quiet, accomodating stay. Everything about this B&B is just superb. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean and the breakfasts are to die for. Service is personal and obliging and the location is surrounded by lovely countyrside, approx 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh. Lots of good local restaurants and pubs in... more
