The room we were allocated was reasonably comfortable though the zip locked beds would have benefitted greatly from a mattress topper. Furnished in keeping with the age of the hotel, including a not inconsiderable layer of dust on bed side tables and television base ( which remained untouched throughout our stay ). Rather disconcerting too was finding "evidence" of the... More

yWe only spent one night at this hotel and despite a cold welcome from the man at the reception desk, we had a nice stay there. The room is traditionally decorated and there all the accessories you need in the room. The breakfast was OK but limited in terms of choice when you opt for the non Scottish menu. Overall,... More

I stayed here on a whim and boy I was glad I did compared to the other faulty towers I stayed in as I traveled Scotland. The room is quaint old fashioned Scottish nice power shower. Complementary Bombay and tonic nice.. Bed fantastic and curtains shut out the early Scottish dawn. The wifi was slow but we were in deep... More

I've stayed here several times on my way back from the Highlands on holiday, but recently visited with three colleagues for a business dinner, with each of us staying at the hotel. The rooms are as comfortable as ever and very good value, with dinner in the adjoining main restaurant an experience to say the least, and as delicious as... More

This hotel manages to combine comfort with a touch of class and elegance. The rooms are spacious with champagne waiting on arrival, very nice! The breakfast is set in a gorgeous room and quite simply the best cooked breakfast I reckon I have tasted. The oranges are being freshly squeezed in a blender and straight into your glass. So tasty!... More

Been many times to chop and ale house, it's a lovely wee place no frills good food, my only 2 issues are the horrible big tomato wedges in the salad and the chips in a old scabby brown bowl, 2nd time staying over and it was as always lovely a very Scottish room and excellent breakfast my only little quibble... You have to look carefully to find this restaurant but when you do it is excellent! While the decor is rather quaint but interesting. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly! The menu is comprehensive enough to cater for most tastes. The food arrived quickly and was very well cooked and attractively presented. All in all a... More

Visited Champany Inn for my girlfriends birthday after searching for hours to find somewhere a little bit special without completely breaking my bank balance. Champany is that place, it ticks every box. Very warm welcome on arrival and a VERY comfortable room with a nice big bed and a huge bathroom. BEWARE the bed is SO comfortable and the black... More

I stay at hotels a lot mainly in Nordic region but quite rarely in Scotland where I'm from. My wife arranged this trip for us with our teenage kids after research. Hotel has nice location convenient for local historic attractions with above average room for what I'm used to on average. That said the but bathroom could have done with... More

A half hour north of the Edinburgh airport in the sleepy town of Linlithgow is a nice country style inn run by a couple from South Africa. The rooms are nice sized, the linens are high quality, and it is quiet. A good alternative to staying in Edinburgh city. The special attraction is the fantastic steak house-best steak in UK....
