Stayed overnight after seeing The Lion King in Edinburgh Playhouse. Small problem with our reservation which was quickly and efficiently sorted and we had a lovely double room with superb views over Linlithgow. Lovely country setting but still not too far from Edinburgh. Staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was super. I believe it is due to undergo... More

At our roudtrip in scotland we stayed two nights in the Bonsyte House Hotel the location is nice with a panorama view over the Town Linlithgow and its Linlithgow Place Unfortunately this nice view is interuptet by the m9 Motoway witch passes within 500 yards. On the upside thanks to the m9 its 35min to Edinburg and 25min to Sterling... More

recently had the good fortune to stay at the Bonsyde hotel on a business trip in Scotland. Firstly the location. The hotel is situated a short drive from the lovely town of Linlithgow with it's attractive loch and palace on its shore. The views from the hotel across the valley to Linlithgow are spectacular and it is wonderfully peaceful. It... More

We checked it online and said 5 minutes from station but it is 5 miles up a country road. We phoned up and said about it and they said it was by car and we had no car. They would not give us a taxi up and back.

We stayed at the Bonsyde for three nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to say that the cooked breakfast is the best I have ever had, so perfectly cooked, yum! It was a pity that the restaurant was not open for evening meals (due to refurbishment) as we definitely would have eaten in. We did find a good... More

Just come back from a family wedding and was not disappointed, rooms was very spacious, had tea & coffee with biscuits, the staff were very helpful and polite, and made sure our stay was pleasant. Would of like the restaurant to have been open, but we did go into Linlithgow and happy a Haggis Supper by the loch and the... More

This was our second visit, stayed in the same spacious room, sadly the slight 'mouldy' smell has not gone from the bathroom but everything is clean, beds changed regularly and towels if you need them to be. Tea, coffee and biscuits kept well replenished so, all in all, a good place to stay for the price. A bit disappointed that... More

We stayed 3 nights. We had a large room with a double bed and a sofa in front of the TV. When we arrived the room was nice and warm and we were made to feel very welcomed. What we liked the most was the location, it is outside of the town(5 mn drive) therefore it is very quiet. The... More

A large group, 15 of us, arrived on a Saturday afternoon to find out they were not serving dinner that night!!! We had to hire transport to get us into Linlithgow and back again. Breakfast on sunday and Monday morning took forever, even when we advance booked our breakfasts for the Monday. As already mentioned, the heating was bit of... More
